In Texas, pizza delivery drivers get $6 per hour. I hesitate to order pizza, but I'm not going to have the driver work for free when I order.

I will tip at a restaurant provided service levels are worthy of a tip, my tip amount is based on how good the service is. Also if I do have a situation where I have one specific employee go above and beyond I will let the manager know that I am tipping the employee directly and it is not to go into the tip pool and will hand the employee cash. I will not tip for having coffee that has been sitting in an urn poured into a paper cup.

If a fast food, or self service business asks me for a tip I never go back to that establishment. It really is getting out of hand.

Not that it greatly matters but It bothers me too, unfortunately. I also find it irritating when singers do it. For instance, I enjoyed Depeche Mode but after they became overly influenced by america (late eighties onwards), their singer began adding fry to his vocals and it turned me off. Of course this is just one persons perception and story but I'm confident that others feel similarly. 🙂

It’s also worth noting that tipping before a service is even provided is weird. My tip percentage is based on quality of service, that means you have to provide the service first.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ONLY IN THE U.S. 😂
@DeborahWatts-i7h

Per David Jeremiah: I remember when I read this, I had to go back and make sure that I was reading the truth because it's so stark. Listen to this little story. In Dallas, Texas, the Parkland Hospital offers the second largest maternity service in the United States. In one recent year, 16,000 babies were born at the Parkland Hospital. And 70% of them were to illegal immigrants at a cost of $70.7 million. And one of the most disturbing aspects of illegal immigration is simply the fact that it's illegal. Somebody said, "The first thing that a person does who comes in here illegally to this country is break the law".

I love how people think that somehow tips should increase from 15%. We did 15% years ago, but now we've gotta do like 20-25%? Like... tell me you don't understand how PERCENTAGES work without telling me.

The thing is is everybody says they’re tipping more because things cost more… But that’s the whole point of a percentage. As prices go up the amount that is tipped goes up. So deciding that 20% is the new 15% is a little bit weird.

I went to lunch last month and the bill was $32. I only had a $100 bill on me. The waitress saw that and asked me if I wanted change… yes, I do. I would usually assume they were asking out of habit but she commented on it being a “ crisp new bill “ so I know she saw what it was.

Second comment from me but you made a point. Trump said "no taxes on tips". What Trump meant was no tax on the owners who take the tips, not the everyday people. Par for the course.

30% tip. WTF! What was so excepcional to give 30% more of the bill to a establisment? This is out of control. This "tip" sounds more a tax (as if Canada doesn't have a high tax)

Used to work at a buffet as a part time job when I was 19. Tipping we encouraged customers to do cash. Yes 25% tip out of $100 some how always hit $40 or lower but atleast you had cash in hand . You could get $500 tipped on card and never see a sliver of it .

I once didn't tip on an 8 dollar drink at a comedy show because the server was genuinely mean, cold, and bothersome. After we paid, she followed me to the door and put the machine in my face in front of all my peers hounding me for that 2 dollar tip..... This is why we feel pressure to tip - because there are people like this who think it's blasphemous not to, even if you get bad service. Also, I already paid for the ticket and the show. Enough is enough.

Well done report. We had one sandwhich shop in our area where the counter staff outright told us to not add a tip to the receipt because the owner just kept them. We even tried to give a cash tip because the service had been above and beyond and the staff declined the cash tip as well.

I used to eat out and buy at different places to support businesses, but now I avoid going anywhere. I make my own food at home and even take my breakfast and lunch to work because tipping is too much. I once sat down and realized how much money I spent tipping and realized I was losing money.

Not only is gender dysphoria a mental illness: Those who believe it is right to call, a he for "she" and a she for "he" because they tell you to do so, also have a serious mental illness that might be fatal.

I typically save $1s & $5s so each time I get a food delivery I put on the app TIP WILL BE IN CASH... This will ensure that I tip when I deem the service warranted it as opposed to pre-paying the tip and sit by and HOPE they deliver on time... Second,I do NOT trust where the tips go electronically so therefore to ensure it reaches the right hands, I give the tip in cash!!!
