We scuba in the cliff area back in the 90’s and was so much fun. Used to live 45 mins away. My kids grew up swimming thru the shoots and best time to go there in summer is during the week. Weekends will bring out some of the riff-raff that you wanna stay clear of. There’s another great area that’s a secret so I won’t give it up for no one. Best to explore it yourself and find your favorite spot.

I spent one summer as a "Junior Dugan". There were always about a dozen of us in total. There were a total of 5 simulators, in various sizes. The design of the ride (simulator) was a room mounted on three points under the floor. One point was fixed (stable) but the other two were mounted atop large hydraulic jacks. This enabled the room to tilt in any direction - to quite a significant degree, all controlled by 1970s era computers. As we Juniors played our part, we had to anticipate the rolling movements of the room to stay upright. Thankfully the audience was seated. The video at the front of the room was playing through a 'window' and was indeed depicting an underwater chase with another competing diving bell - aka the bad guys. A speaker overhead broadcast a recorded script featuring Slim Pickens as Rube Dugan, and he would issue commands to Junior. We live actors, as Junior, would reply to Rube as though he could hear us. As we ushered guests into the tunnel leading to the simulators there were a series of overhead lights which would indicate to us which simulator was ready for use - a red light indicated unavailable while a green light signaled it was available. I believe the simulators were labeled A, B, C, D, and E. One of them was perpetually unavailable. I think that maintenance was a long term issue that was probably a factor in the decision to remove the ride.

As a TA, I have to say you are spot on in your rankings! Disney is exceptional in every way and Princess is the best for Alaska! Royal is our family’s “go to”cruiseline for the value though. Norwegian’s food is also a big issue for me…the quality in the main dining as well as the lack of late night options! Carnival is on the bottom of my list as well, but I have clients who swear by it. I will say that Carnival is working hard to move past the party vibe and it is better on longer cruises. Any 3 night cruise will have that party vibe. For River cruising, I highly suggest AmaWaterways and for the Antarctic your best bet is Atlas Ocean Voyages!
