We love carnival cruise. We’re not a party vibe people at all. We cruised to Alaska on carnival and had a great experience. We feel like destinations make a difference in the vibe.

Yes, I can see destination making a difference. We may have to give Carnival another try (cold weather cruise, next time).

I've never been on a cruise and don't plan to ever go on one! I've heard too many nightmare stories and problems...but the cost alone would keep us from ever experiencing it.

It took over twenty years for John to talk me (Amy) into a cruise, but I unexpectedly enjoyed it!

I have some friends that did a Caribbean one and they didn't really care for it. I cant remember why. Interesting because you all loved it!!

I have done 3 cruises with MSC and 1 cruise with Royal. I absolutely love MSC. I am 44 (or will be on Friday), and MSC just has a better vibe for me with a little older crowd and not too many children. They also have better deals for solo travelers which is what I usually am.

We will have to give them a try!

As a TA, I have to say you are spot on in your rankings! Disney is exceptional in every way and Princess is the best for Alaska! Royal is our family’s “go to”cruiseline for the value though. Norwegian’s food is also a big issue for me…the quality in the main dining as well as the lack of late night options! Carnival is on the bottom of my list as well, but I have clients who swear by it. I will say that Carnival is working hard to move past the party vibe and it is better on longer cruises. Any 3 night cruise will have that party vibe. For River cruising, I highly suggest AmaWaterways and for the Antarctic your best bet is Atlas Ocean Voyages!

Thanks John and Amy for the video. I am a huge Disney fan so if I went on a cruise it would be on the Wish

I love cruising. I'm 70 and I have been cruising at least once a year since 1991. I also do not drink and rarely gamble. I have cruised with children, and family reunion cruises. Now I mostly cruise with my sister. I did cruise Disney with a preteen and a teenager about 6 years ago. It was packed, it was very expensive but it was a beautiful ship and I understand why it is your number one. I'm glad I tried it but as I mostly travel without children and I'm older I think it was a one-and-done for me. With the exception of Disney, a three-night cruise on any Cruise line is going to be a party cruise. That's why I don't do them. I did at seven night Carnival cruise on their new Jubilee in January with extended family and it was wonderful. But every stateroom was taken so it was quite crowded. If you like Princess I think you would like Celebrity and Holland America. but if you bring your kids target their newer ships as they have more facilities for kids. If you are open-minded about the cruise experience I think you would like one of the new MSC ships. I think a reason why some people don't like MSC is because they're a European Cruise line and give you a European experience not a North American one. They are quite reasonably priced, particularly if you're traveling with kids. When people ask I always tell them my favorite cruise is the one I'm on. Old ship, new ship, big ship, mid-size ship ... I've had a good time on all of them. I think you do what a lot of people should do, especially those who are new to cruising and that is to define what it is that you're looking for and do some research about what Cruise line would be a good fit. I've also done multiple River cruises with Viking in Europe and they are expensive but they do include reduced airfare. It's wonderful to pull up at a dock and be able to walk into the towns and cities of Europe. tours are included in each port. The only added expense we had was gratuities. However, if you are mobility challenged and use a wheelchair or scooter, European river cruises are not for you. You also have to be 18 and over. I hope you have another Cruise planned. I love your vlogs.

Thank you so much for the recommendations! We'd love to try some of the cruise lines you mentioned, and maybe we'll give Carnival another try (longer cruise).

@@TPFsorry, I'm old and I ramble but I do love to cruise. My most interesting experience was on the Norwegian Prima in May on a repositioning cruise from New York to Iceland. I ended up getting sick toward the end of the cruise once we hit Iceland. I was taken off the ship in Akureyri and hospitalized and two surgeries and 18 days later I was finally allowed to fly home. I can do without that kind of an exciting Cruise.
@TPF7 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness! Definitely not the kind of cruise experience you'd want to repeat!

NCL has O’Sheehan’s. We’ve done CCL, NCL, and Celebrity. Liked all of them for different reasons. Celebrity for food. CCL for price and service. NCL for entertainment.

Not into the party vibe either. Booked our first cruise for next year on Enchantment of the Seas. Just for the destination. Going to Costa Maya and Cozumel. Always wanted to see the Mayan Ruins.
