You are correct my friend. I work with a coal forge and heat/speed are the heart of the weld. I have to go slow and start in the center with overlapping blows to get a good weld. Then practice, practice and practice some more. Great lesson and advice, thank you.

Just now seeing your videos. Sir, we have common aspects of our lives. Are you still making knives and videos? I would love to be able to visit, as I am well acquainted with pain. You are now on my Prayer list.

I'm looking into something like this, I just found out this exists. I may have ankylosing spondylitis, not confirmed. My back pain has been going on for nearly 24 years, and I have experienced electrical shocks through my body, as well as burning sensations in my fingers. No, I'm not diabetic. My neurologist is gonna talk to me about a trial tomorrow. What should I expect, and can I drive with it?

Можно попробовать между пластинами стали прокладывать листы железа, а также для сварки использовать пресс. А уже потом готовый пакет ковать и обрабатывать.

Coil springs usually go through tons and tons of stress before they're salvaged. To get ahead of the problems that creates, heat and slowly cool it several times before working it. This isn't my first hand knowledge, but what have gathered from others with knowledge and experience. Makes sense to me though for what it's worth. I believe it's called thermocycling or normalizing. More likely, thermocycling is the process used to normalize, which restructures the grain, repairing microscopic cracks that weakend the steel. I'd love if anyone could confirm or correct me. So far I have forged half a dozen sets of tongs from mild steel and rebar, and so far they've held up great, not counting twice when they cracked where the reigns meet the boss but that was defect in workmanship, not material, (and useful lessons). I just got two monster coil springs that will be the thickest and some of the hardest stock I've worked with as of yet. Over the next couple days I will be heating it up and then burying it in ash to cool, several times before I start trying to work it. Fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing.

Brother, you can’t be mad because the people on your state are so anti gun that companies are scared to do business. You just gotta either suck it up or move out of that hell hole before it’s too late
@WJBlades5 ай бұрын
@@bradyb2233 I moved out of NY two years ago. Not everyone is in a position to get out the way I did. Some people stay hoping to push back from within. When something is legal to have in NY and you still can't get it... it sucks really bad.

@@WJBlades it’s just part of the game man. Glad you got out but everyone can’t be saved. NY is done for in terms of freedom. I’m sure firearms companies would be constantly sued into oblivion if they conduct business within a state like NY. It just is what it is and we would be dumb to think things will change any time soon. That state will have to hit rock bottom before people change

Amen brother! Well said. 🙏✝️🕊 I also suffer from chronic pain. I have heard similar comments from my fellow believers about faith and healing. Some laid hands upon me in prayer for healing. My simple request, pray that God will give me perseverance, not relieve my suffering. I am a better man through the pain. I have been humbled and dependent on God. My faith has grown greater through the experience, and I am now embracing pain as a blessing in my life spiritually. As my body declines, my faith and dependence on God have increased. All praise, honor, and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Take a grinder and open up the seams where it didn't weld fire up the forge.Apply flux before the billet gets too hot when it turns a red set your weld then re flux. Bring it up to forge welding temp tap tap re flux you'll know real quick if it takes or not.I had an old billet i tried this method an it worked.

I haven’t been making Damascus for a long time, but everyone I have talked too about Damascus says to just lightly tap it to set the welds. If you start really pounding on it in the beginning it will weld right where you hit, but the rest will pop open. I have found this to be true. Also I like to use 2-3 heats of setting the weld to just to be sure. The final piece of advice I have been given was to “flux the heck out of it, bordering on wasting it” Hope this was helpful
@WJBlades11 ай бұрын
All of that is good advice.

If you get light primer strikes with the Geisseles it’s not going to be because of the pull weight. The pull weight measures the trigger spring, not the (separate) hammer spring, and the hammer spring is what dictates the force of the hammer hitting the primer.
@WJBlades11 ай бұрын
A few factors go into light strikes, mostly hammer spring power. I think we agree there. I disagree that hammer springs don't affect pull weight. They absolutely do.

Singe stage triggers generally will have less travel than 2 stage. This is because a good single stage has no pre travel and is already at the wall. Really good triggers in general should have basically no overtravel meaning single stage will have almost no travel at all and 2 stage triggers will just have the takeup (1st stage) travel.
