Clever little device. I like your idea of showing your own photos as a film strip. Hope you all had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.

You might get the valves for that a lot cheaper on the Bay if you're patient. I've popped a PAM8403 board in them for pennies too if the transformers are shot, they don't sound too awful in a vintage radio.

Nice camera. Shame about the valves in the radio. I agree, £60 is far too much money.

This is a whole new area of technical work for me. Again, a very thorough, methodical and meticulous approach to the task. Good camera work too.

I would suggest stripping the whole movement aside the coil and cleaning it thoroughly. Dirt in between the bushes and the wheel pivots in each side of the plates will act like abrasive over time and damage them ( re bushing job then required) use clock oil not grease and only use tiny amounts. See others videos on how to service a clock would suggest. Nice little clock and very impressive you stripped down the electrical winding . Very fiddly.

Nice clock. We had a wall clock that had the same sort of starting button, but sticking out og the bottom of it. It was purely random though which way the motor would run. LOL.

There are some excellent photos among those that actually hot through the processing. Your scan does a good job and once they have been digitised they can be manipulated further. Really enjoyed this video. I must admit I’m looking forward to receiving my roll of Chinese b/w film!

I remember the utter frustration of trying to load the film onto the plastic spiral and that was with the benefit of a darkroom. Using a bag would really be a challenge! Great presentation/tutorial. Clear explanation and making it seem so simple! I like the timer you used - great idea. The blank exposures is a real puzzle. Why would the majority be fine and some not? Maybe leave the camera back open and run through all shutter speeds at each aperture. Do you shoot aperture priority with the camera selecting the shutter speed? Could be a problem there. Good luck sorting that out. Looking forward to seeing the photos!

Another excellent and important historical record of how Billingham station has managed to survive over the decades. There are some very interesting and well taken photographs and I particularly like the way you’ve set them within the video. My auntie and uncle lived at 40 Dorset Crescent that backed onto the “new” station, long before it was built. My brother and I used to look out of our bed when we stayed there to watch the steam trains going by in the night - flames lighting the sky as the fireman overloaded the fire to tear along the straight stretch north. Another record to go into an online archive?
@frankowalker4662Ай бұрын
That was very interesting. Shame they removed all the old buildings. I don't go on trains anymore. My small local station doesn't have a ticket machine and I don't have a smartphone. So I have no way of buying a ticket.

This was made for population control and STD prevention in Africa . in the small villages with no power. When it gets dark they had nothing to do but procreation… spreading hiv and aids and making babies , this was a problem as famine and drought were already draining.

We had one of these from the 70's-80's. The fan was a lot faster and noisier than yours. I think it needs oil. LOL. I didn't know you could get film strips though. 👍

I think you've got the feed spool on back to front. The manual says it should feed from the bottom of the reel. The one I've just been given for repair has a sticker inside the case showing the film threading method. My inner spool drive wheels were the other way up from yours - the drive belt is on top of the spring drive on the feed side, and the take-up drive groove is towards the front plate. If you haven't got a manual, I've uploaded one here: drive.google.com/open?id=1MP3X8-E8FUHUBhlx07UKC2Mkv7xvcE1n&usp=drive_fs I have had success making a new belt for the spool drive from the same green textured belting.

I enjoyed this video: making the complex easier to understand for both cameras. It’s really frustrating for those of us who enjoyed film to see it become hideously expensive to buy and process. I hope you produce more videos like this. It would also be interesting to see examples of early digital cameras. The crossover from film to digital was a very perplexing time for keen photographers!

Nice cameras. When I bought a projector, many years ago, it came with a box of stuff thrown in. There were slides, flash bulbs, a broken 8mm film splicer, loads of junk and an 8mm sound camera in a leather case with microphone, with a really long lead on it, and light meter. I put batteries in but it didn't do anything. I still use the mic though with my portable reel to reels.
@tonygarrett72142 ай бұрын
Excellent work! Have you got an 8mm camera to produce some new footage, or is the cost of cine-film now prohibitive?

I do have a old clockwork camera but assumed the film was not made anymore...... but....... I've just looked on line and you can get a roll of BW reversal for £20, but the chemicals to process and expensive, and getting someone to do it for you is VERY expensive. Maybe on day....

I think I built this same kit a year or two ago. Can't find it on Amazon anymore. I never managed to get a signal out of it and couldn't find out why, so it's on the back burner for now. The extra parts did come in handy for a crystal radio kit, though.

A few turns of wire (experiment) around the end of the Ferrite, One to a good Earth point and the other strung outside will increase the coverage, but don't expect too much. The AM Mod looks to be series mod with the oscillator which might give some FM deviation too. This may introduce a hum if the signal gets saturated with mains interference from the house wiring. But its worth a try. I have a collection of AM receivers here. 73 from G1ZQC.

Now build a battery powered 2.4ghz transmitter that just plays noise and mess with everyone around you 😅😅
@douglashoff952 ай бұрын
You could add an external antenna to extend the range. A couple turns of wire around the antenna coil core and one end of this wire as a wire antenna. A few feet would work.

Ill give that a try, thanks.

Great video. All RAF and Allied air crew including those who flew that type of aircraft deserve our deepest respect. 55,000 aircrew personnel gave their lives in WW2 which statistically, was somewhat disproportionately a higher rate of attrition than the other branches of the armed services. It’s a great video and hopefully you’ll post more like it. Many thanks.

Hi mr ZenitJ , could you one more video on how to use a primefilm 1800u, like a tutorial where you place the film in there and stuff. i think a lot of people are buying this for dirt cheap now but there isn't much info on how to use it and stuff. I just ordered one and will receive it next month. Would be great to see one

Where did you buy the motor? Do you have the name or id for the motor? I have the same issue with my Looxor.. I fixed it with a wire I manuell pull ;) But love to get it sorted.
@MrZenitJ4 ай бұрын
I got it second hand off ebay. I took a chance on a listing for "peugeot 125 jet force seat catch" as it looked the same item (I may have cross referenced the part numbers, I can't remember) and was much cheaper than the ones listed for the looxor. It worked for me, but make sure for yourself. Peugeor part 742956 maybe.
