However, I’m wondering how much efficiency is being lost by having the cassettes in immediate contact with the hot attic as opposed to a wall unit. Any thoughts?

Having similar issues here, Lennox. Condenser came empty put about 7.22 oz is a 36 ….3 ton so low side sits about 139 high side 305 temp outside is around 79. But now my SH is 29 and SC 15 when on reality it should be around 15 and 8 now im not an expert only been doing this for 4 years now and idk what it could be I want to know if it could be the txv

This helped so much! Realized the temperature was reading lower than actual. Was able to fix it right up ❤

A big problem with microchannel coils is that's aluminum is very thin and fragile. Units do ice up every now and then. Could be from dirty filter or broken blower motor, low on refrigerant etc. once that evap coil gets iced up that ice screws up the aluminum channels carrying the refrigerant and then you have leaks. Extremely rare for damage from leaks to happen on copper coils.
