Good God did you just push that through with the inducer running and hit the fan blades? Helpful tip to reduce callbacks remove the inducer assembly and thoroughly clean it lord knows what you might find. On an aged unit always give your customers the option to replace the item in question even if you think it will be fine don’t presume to know what the customer wants.

I have a propane furnace in open cell foamed atticed. Would pulling outside air into return be adequate enough for combustible air needed?

Yo man my RV furnace went out last night and its got electricity and gas to it. It blows cold air for a few mins and then goes off. The sale switch is clean but I ordered a new one it should be here Friday. Do you have any idea what it may be? I feel it may be something simple. I ran out of propane over night and now my furnace seems to not ignite. It's trying to ignite I can hear it but it just blows cold.

Omg that mainboard doesn't look very protected. 😮 obviously water is running down the back of the cabinet yet despite that the pcb is exposed. 🤔

What does one do when they leave home during the winter? Turn the Emergency Heat on as a precaution or take their chances the temperature does not drop into the 20's? Thanks.

You shouldnt need a relay at all though if you just go w to w as long as you are getting 24v to W it will work

I run into that on pressure switches a lot, apparently I'm the only tech who thinks to clean the fittings instead of replacing the unit.

My mom had that problem with her Carrier furnace, three Carrier-certified technicians visited, the final visit the owner of the local Carrier company came too (50+ service trucks dealer) Verdict: Furnace is trash, needs a replacement heat exchanger and 42 hours labor to install it - I can't remember their estimate $4k+ So they tried to sell her a brand new furnace, the old furnace was 4 years old at the time.

Thank you for your input on your prefer gauges. Well I’m just looking to upgrade my hand me gauge which I just recently notice they’re not even rated for use for R-410. Luckily for me I only used them half a dozen time for just creating a vacuum during new equipment install . Like I said I have some knowledge of installing several of my own mini split units at my home but now I would like to get into the nitty gritty part of the HVAC tech even if it’s just for myself, like diagnosing and troubleshooting.

When only the limit switch opens, it is because the opening is small and the roll-outs do not open. The roll-out opens when the opening is larger and the flame comes out. Thanks

I have a natural gas space heater. The pilot light keeps going out. The professionals came three different times and they can't fix it. The heater is only a few years old. Is it possible that if too much gas is being used throughout the dwelling that it can suffocate the pilot light?,, cuz that's what I think the problem is. For instance if someone is using the,, cook stove,, another small space heater in the back room, in a bigger furnace in the basement, that blows its heat, through heat ducts throughout the dwelling. I think when all these things are being used and being turned on and off it is snuffing out the pilot light,, on said heater. Anyone have this problem?

It is possible that the gas line feeding those appliances is too small and can't handle all the appliances running at once

Another thing on the pressure switches is that after the first or first couple times heating early in the season. They sit a long time before the next run time, like they run 2 times over the night and then sit all day without running. That humid exhaust environment can get up to the pressure switch and causes it to stick in place when it dries. Like a damp paper towel can stick to the counter once it dries. Tapping on the switch or pulling that tube and very gently puffing in and out on it until the switch clicks back and forth freely works great and frees it up usually. Sometimes they free up on their own eventually just from the inducer pressure cycling in and out on start attempts. Doesn't necessarily need replaced and most we've had do this after freeing them up are still in place and working fine years later.
