Great video Tad! I noticed that the unit has a Symbio control board. There’s an app for your phone called Symbio Service and Install that lets you connect to the unit via Bluetooth. With that, you can change how the unit is set up, timers, see alarm logs, etc. The other cool thing is that it gives you the ability to run test modes for any stage of heating or cooling so that you don’t have to unplug any thermostat wires or jump any out. It’s a great tool to have👍 thank you for the videos and information you put out man!

What do you recommend be done for the yearly maintenance?
@joathowdoi334611 сағат бұрын
I agree with you. I said the same thing to a technician the other day the new unit he offered had a 10 year warranty. The unit I have lasted 23 years technicians don’t want to repair. They just want replace so they can get commission.

410 vs R22 ...... twice the pressures =2x less longevity...... R 22 systems were nearly bulletproof compared to 410 systems!!! Curious to see what happens with the new refrigerants

Seems like a waste to have all those cans when you need so much product. As far as environmental impact I wonder how that compares. Save a little heat and AC but waste a bunch of manufacturered cans with propellant.

Starting to see unit replacement warranty (compressor failire) instead of parts on some systems seer2. I'm guessing its getting cheaper to make so they are offering it. Hard to find people that are willing to fix things when its "cheaper" to replace.

Then you have the new A2L stuff coming and they say it will be up to 20% price increase if not more.

They truly don't make things like they used to. Old carrier units I've come across runs like a champ 15 plus years later.

Cause the only value corporations have is profit. And they have to make more profit each year. And to do that they need to reduce quality. And that is paid for by the user.

I’m not a technician just a home owner. Had new system installed (Canada). 1.5 ton AC with 2 tone A coil. They didn’t set my fan speed but I do know how to adjust the taps myself. Currently it’s on 796 cfm should I knock this down to 596. The old system that died was a 2 ton. They said I was over sized. 1300 sqft house. I did try it briefly but I only saw at the register about a 1 degree drop. So at the lower speed I get 53.7 Is 200 cfm really worth the reduction. I’m seeing the upper floors warmer a tad dripping down the cfm

Put a meter(amp clamp) on it when it starts bet you any money it’s not pulling 74 amps, it will if the compressor is bad internally. But starting amps would probably be around 20/22 amps and then will come down to 12/13 amps (RLA) sincerely and hvac tech

Don't buy a Samsung unit! I have a Samsung mini-split Model AR in January 2021. It worked well until April 2024. The local tech support has been coming weekly for the last two months and we still can't get the unit working. He has been sitting out of my house for over 2 hours waiting for the Samsung mfg tech support person to call him for the second time. we are getting no satisfaction.

Is the change in tubing size what causes the expansion and therefore no need for any type of expansion valve?
