Acknowledging that this little chapter will end once you reach a certain height is honorable. This is motivation to keep going and I’m here for it. As someone who has started several businesses and got bored with them, I lacked reason and motivation behind my businesses. I’m just good at marketing myself 😂 honestly I am just a good sales woman and I fairly easily turned hobbies into money. And they all but one did very well. I just literally got bored 😢. So I love that you have purpose and drive behind your brand and product and may you keep those sheets of customer names as memorial alters of the beginning that you will always remember your humble beginnings, and the nostalgic moments of your purpose. God bless ladies!

Hi Cherie! I love your content-happy holidays! I had a question about entrepreneurship. As a first-gen with an Asian background, how did you approach the decision to pursue entrepreneurship instead of taking the corporate route, particularly from a financial perspective? I know money isn't everything, but I'm curious about how you and your sister weighed the trade-offs between entrepreneurship (higher risk, potentially high long-term earnings but lower short-term income) and the corporate path (stable & higher short-term income but potentially capped long-term growth). Thanks so much for your insights!

@@nelly2780 hello! Both jean and I had corporate careers before going to business school (and Jean after MBA too). We both worked for a while and saved a ton so we can now take the entrepreneurial risk. It’s scary! But no regrets yet 👋🏻🥳

@@cherie.brooke Hi Cherie! Thx for your response and I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the journey! For some context, I’ve been working in finance for 4-5 years now and feeling a bit stuck in my role. I’ve always wanted to become an entrepreneur, but while I’ve worked hard to save, I’m not sure how much is enough to take the leap. As a first-gen, certain milestones-like owning a real house-also mean something to me as well (family trauma eh). So I’m just curious how did you find the financial threshold that made you feel comfortable and how did you weigh the trade-offs?

Why? Ai is just an algorithm. I'm no professor, but I certainly enjoy writing, research too. Letting ai do it you takes the fun away, the achievement when you understand something. Or when the stupid little pieces of your world click into place, a fully formed puzzle. Do what you want, but you'll lose those moments for yourself if you ask ai to do it for you. Enjoy your whimsy-less life.

Hello girls! This is my first time here and I'd like to know more about your opinions/tips on the relationship between a student and a college advisor. I'm a grad student from Brazil, doing both scientific iniciation and iniciation to teaching with the same teacher. I've been doing my best to form a great bond with her, because I know there's a lot to learn from her experience and she might help me with my academic carreer. Still, I'd like some advice on that, especially on stablishing limits and asserting my needs and desires. Thanks a lot for the video, I found it really helpful! I'd also like to make a reeding recomendation on this topic. There's a book called Ultralearning, it's really great, and there's a chapter dedicated to comunnicating with people from your field to ask for advice, help or feedback, even if you can only talk to them from e-mail or an insta dm, he teaches you how to leave an impression and make the best out of this oportunity.

Going because you want to have a Harvard MBA life experience is not a bad reason. As long as you know why you want to go and can justify your life decisions, it is fine. Not everything needs to be a economical justified decision. Nobody weighs the economical value of going on vacation to Hawaii or Vegas on whether it will benefit your career lol

I can totally relate to the feeling of having people close by when you're in school and enjoying your time in school. I think about it sometimes too after I finished grad school in 2016, and it was so much simpler back then. School had a set endpoint which is graduation, set goals which is to pass your classes, and a daily routine which is to show up to class. Nowadays, as an entrepreneur you set your own everything and that is a lot of fatigue, and you're not surrounded by peers as much, mostly employees. It's actually great to be able to confide in and vent to someone like your sister who's also a partner and has gone through similar situations. I'm glad I can reminisce the enjoy those memories and feelings from back in school. I'm looking forward to the next 10 years and what will come in the future as things get even better, and then I'll look forward to those moments where I can reminisce on the past again.

Thanks for this video Jean and Cherie. Whenever I felt uncomfortable even though the other person was nice, it usually meant that they were trying to sell me something. Sometimes people act this way when they’re trying to pitch me on a multilevel marketing scheme. Thankfully I didn’t fall for the pitch.

Honestly, I have no clue why this video doesn’t have more likes or views. You explained that concept wonderfully & concisely to me who is someone with 0 experience in this matter. Also the video quality seemed like it was from a famous influencer, your hook, captions, camera angle, and so much more, just everything was well put together. I don’t know if I have any feedback even, maybe use your back camera for slightly higher quality, maybe edit the video a little to make the colours pop more and be more attention grabbing. Not too sure but maybe give it a shot. Good job on the video I enjoyed it and learned from it, just be consistent and I’m sure you’ll gain traction with this. Best of luck.

Based on Red Lobster etc, it seems more like private equity is on the old colonial model. That is, show up, extract as much wealth as possible, and then get out. "Cutting costs and adding products" is great and all, but it's hard to see how you're "adding value before flipping a house" by selling the land under all the restaurants for $1.5B, and then making the franchisees pay rent on the land they used to own.
