I completely enjoyed this video. I just purchased some of these for my 9 year old to use. Your video was extremely helpful. Your art is inspiring.

Inktense... well i see it this very simple logical way...they are watercolour pencils because they are colour pigment used with water. Simple ... 😊

Thank you. My husband is Czech & grew up with a set like this. It really is for mixing. I picked one up out of nostalgia & find it fun & convenient to tote around. Like many former E. European communist era products, it was designed to be economically manufactured. I plan to refill the cavities with my own paints at some point - it would be easy to just tote around one or two disks tightly screwed together & leak proof. They are super light.

Thank you! Interesting how so many contain PG17. A pigment I almost already have in my palette. While I love trying convenience mixes, I am becoming more fascinated with mixing my own. Might finally save me some money. 😂

Daniel Smith has the darker version, but it’s more transparent and granulating.

I love my Terre Verte from Holbein! I struggle to find pre-mixed greens that look natural to me and not too "squeaky". Terre Verte looks just right to me. My mum and I went to an art supply store last week and she ended up buying Chromium Oxide Green twice (as watercolor and as acrylics, I think) just based on the swatches in the store, so I hope she will also like this color. Great video about this underrated color!

Thanks for showing this pigment in real use. It’s not one I reach for, I only have it in a couple of brands and it is not in regular rotation. I recently got the Roman Szmal Chromium Oxide Green Deep and it is a stunner for making granulating mixes. It’s heavily granulating, and makes really dark mixes.

Do you think they are better than the traditional Staedtler watercolor pencils? Is there a difference between them?
@gabriellaritaart10 күн бұрын
I think these are a bit waxier than the regular ones, but in terms of pigmentation and general use, they are very comparable. I wish there were more colours.
@TheHugooo1510 күн бұрын
@gabriellaritaart Thank you, your comment helped me a lot... I was interested in purchasing them, but if they are more waxy, I think they are more difficult to work with, especially with layers... it will be better to invest in regular watercolor pencils.

An interesting palette of colors! How do you like those Chromaflow pencils? (Maybe you've reviewed them and I missed it?) I found them difficult to layer compared to most sets in a similar price range.
@gabriellaritaart17 күн бұрын
Hi Tina 🌺 I mean... For the kind of mixed media use that I like to do, they are great. Soft, pigmented, great color selection, much better greens than in Colorsoft. I wish they were chunky like the regular Derwent pencils. Here where I live, they are cheaper than Caran d'Ache or Faber Castell pencils, so that's a plus. I've had some quality control issues such as off centered cores and some breakage. But overall I really like them. ☺️

I dont use pastel watercolors on their own, but your painting is gorgeous. I have a Derwent pastel set, and I mix it with my Cotman watercolors to make an almost gouache like paint. It makes beautiful colors, and would probably mix well with any student grade paints.

Oh interesting, thank you for sharing. I dont have Cotman btw, but I’ve been thinking about trying them one day.

Hi, this is a beautiful piece of work! I recently went back to the Derwent pastel paint set, because they were unused. I only paint with pastel paints in combination with the Derwent Inktens Pans Set and Derwent Inktens bars. I am pleased with the results. See you in the next video :-)

Lovely greens. I only have one in Shinhan's designer gouache. But it doesn't have pg23. It has PY74 PBr6, but I don't remember what it looks like. I'll check it out this weekend. I already have & love the WN's green earth. Your SH yellow shade Terra verte is very nice & it may go on my wish list... AFTER 🤓 I look to see if I don't already have something similar. I really don't need any more. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are happy, well and enjoying the fall. 😊❤🍁
