@2:34...same thing happened to me. I was 16. I had been with my adopted mother since I was 4 days old. I was in shock. Just brings back memories to my 51 yr old self 😢

I never saw any of these when I was a kid. I guess because it was in the 90s. I only have memories from when I was 13 and older I don't think they had this after-school special when I was a kid

I love love this 🎥 film ever since this first came out from day 1 on TV 📺 from back in the Fall Season of 1978 when I was 13...and now...for a few years later have this on DVD 📀 collection. ❤❤❤❤

Wow! I believe this was made into a play, because that’s where I first heard about it. A great film/show. I hope that the real students back in 1967 learned an important lesson from this.

I always loved the afternoon specials in the 70's and early 80's. I wished they continued them today. Many children and teenagers could learn from these situations today.❤

I only hitch hiked once and that was in the countryside of France years ago . There was about 5 of us. They were experienced hikers. The driver was a wonderful and safe woman in her 40s. Seeing there were so many of us she should have been more scared of us both she was genuine and safe and so were we . She drove us all the way to the farm we worked at.

What I love seeing in these After School Specials is that adults arent afraid or weary to physically touch the teenagers (innocently of course) and show genuine warmth, support and encouragement. Not being touchy-feely just when it counts for emphasis. Everyone is afraid of everything now when it comes to human contact.

16 year old me and a friend hitched a ride with no thought of danger. He dropped us at the location we asked but before getting out he said he could have done whatever he wanted to us and made us promise never to get in cars with strangers again.
