Genuinely never understood why people say the dominance theory is a ,”myth”. When you observe dogs you notice dominance, when you use training methods based on the dominance theory, it works. And their overall argument for why it’s ,”debunked” isn’t even really a strong argument.

I got my female Malinois at 4 months old. She does not have an off switch and she acts just like your pup. My "Mel" is coming up on 8 months old. Is easy to train. Walks great both loose leash and heal. BUT then she turns into a Tasmanian Devil. She love to tug and retrieve toys. I'm 76 years old and she is the love of my life. If I were working I would not have bought her. I need a protection dog for my wife and me. I walk in front of the supermarket to teach her to behave around people. She is trained enough now that I leave her kennel open at night and she jumps on our bed and cuddles with me. Your video totally describes a Malinois. ThankQ for a great video.

Mines ex British military and I guess I'm lucky, already trained, not a chewy nightmare or destructive, loves his bite work and he's great with kids and small fluffy things like kittens. He's my rock , my guardian and my best mate. We both have PTSD so have each others backs on the dark day's. Best dog ever , ill never have any breed but maligators now!.

A high level of training at a very young age is key with all dogs. As specially highly intelligent, energetic breeds. I wouldn't be satisfied with this dogs behavior in the slightest. Not the dogs fault but not even close to how well they can be. Same with Basenjis I have two that are wonderful with kids other dogs and great along with my Malinois. Lots of work, love, discipline and consistency makes a good dog, that's trust worthy and fun to be around. It's a dis justice to any breed of dog to say that they are a certain way. If your dog is out of control then you didn't train them as puppies.

Gotta love those videos where people demonstrate recall when the dog isn't even distracted. Try showing how good the recall is while the dog f.e. plays with other dogs.

I have never been this tired and this happy all at once. Getting a Mal was the best decision I've made in a long time! True, she' like a super smart toddler with sharp teeth, but damn it, being away from her for any amount of time feels like I'm missing a limb! 😂 And I've only had her for about 4 months. I would deffinetly recommend this breed for people who have the time and energy to invest in them. And that's A LOT of both. A good trainer is also a must.

You sound bitter. Maybe the dogs picking up that energy and feeling anxious because they live to for their owners. Just a thought
