Definitely agree. It's kind of hard to catch the raw sound if your effects are overdoing it as you go .

General question on importing MIDI files for bass lines or drum tracks. If you do that, will the Zoom R20 convert those midi files to .WAV files when rendering the final master file? And is there a way to alter the tempo of an imported file either on the R20 or through Reaper or some other DAW software? I'm new at this and trying to get my ducks in a row before I buy the wrong gear. Thanks for all your great videos.

would this device allow a device to device connection where i can connect a midi keyboard with audio over usb like the Yamaha mox6 and assign individual sounds or tracks from the mox6 to individual sounds on the Tascam bridge for individual editing?

I love your video on the Zoom R-20. Can you let me know if you can import sample drum loops or bass loops into the R-20 and store them on there or do you have to import them into a DAW system and them select them from there? Thanks so much. I'm seriously considering getting one of these but I need to be able to add bass tracks to projects. Thanks again.

These are great little preamps. If you hunt around Reverb, eBay and Mercari, you'll see them for good prices. You can change out the tubes to suit your goals. (Guitar, Voice, Keys, etc)

PLEASE remember to not support Behringer when they clone things still being made, I know several Moog employees who were laid off because of all the sales they lost to Behringer from their OG semi-modular trio. They were vital to the local Asheville music scene, Behringer doesn't have any benefits at all besides being cheap and enriching a billionaire.

Hey brother! I've watched and liked all your videos on the DP24 for a year now, thanks for all the info! So I just cleaned up and redid my studio, and unplugged and replugged everything in... And I have a question.. The light that says 'GUITAR' in the input section on the top left above the trims is lit up orange... I don't remember that being lit before. What does this light actually mean? None of the effects in the guitar section are on... Im guessing it has to do with the usual "instrument/line in" selection for inputs, but I don't know where that option is or where it's coming from. I have the phantom power on for inputs E-H... and that light is on. What is it for?

It does not sound like an original. Muffled high's, over saturated low end so way less punch and no space in your mix. The midi machines go from bad timing to horrible timing and everything in between. This one is on the horrible side of the scale. I have all the old drum machines. Everything before midi has WAY BETTER timing. I let any of them run and its already music, it bounces so exciting that i want to dance. This totally not. Its timing makes me feel nervous. Opposite of what most people say i think the pre midi stuff is a lot tighter because all it has to say is on. A midi machine has to say on, how loud, what filter settings, pitch, envelopes etc. A computer can only do one thing at a time so each next event has to wait until the last is calculated and allocated and pulled from memory. Pre midi machines have a different "brain" for each section. The sequencer, the sounds that each have their own brain and memory and physical output to an internal analogue mixer. So in these machines the different parts can work simultaneously. Nobody has to wait, so perfect timing... The first MPC has its magical timing because in that machine the parts are still separate physical brains. Put an 808 on full speed and it becomes a perfect pitched note. Do that with a midi machine and it becomes a fart... The main thing that makes the original MAGICAL is its timing and Behringer has not copied any principle of the original to achieve that magical timing. So its very very far from a clone… (30 years top level sound engineer. Also worked with Prince)

Hi everyone! I am lucky to already have my LM Drum and it's fantastic! I would like to ask for some help to get it sync with Logic Pro X. I have programmed patterns and songs in the machine and now I would like it to start (and sync tempo) when I push play on Logic. I would be very happy to get your help with which settings I need to do both on the LM Drum and in Logic to get this to work. Thanks a lot in advance!

It will be awesome to hear what you get by sampling from the 8\12 bit and the 3320vcf 2164vca and sampling. What does it do to my 808 samples or loops or synths. Because I can use any sampler but got this one a real character? How does it sound? That’s the question.

I entered into the world of studying computers because in the 90s i couldn't find any information on computer audio apart from on a few internet sites Although I find computers useful I found the endless upgrades and having to be my own IT support person when I wanted to do simple things, I bought myself a dp26 because that was the closest object to what I could relate to from the 1970s and 80's. For me the solution seems to be record ideas on the Tascam instead of a computer, and when it is time, use the computer. I looked at a lot of setups on the web and noticed that the centre of their studio is the computer in a desk with monitors, very practical. But when. Thinking about it I realised I wanted a home studio with no centre at all, so I put one computer in another room and have another on a trolley. The studio is a square with different regions for keyboards, for guitars, for vocals and a big space in the middle that changes roles. As I taught IT and was on computers for years I did not want to continue with them taking over my life 😂. I was very happy when I rang a shop looking for a hardware reverb unit to add to the lexicon and TC, and a young guy said to me "everyone does it in the box now", I had no idea what he was talking about (this confirmed I had escaped the computer enslaved), world 😂 , I said to him "you mean like a guitar pedal (box)" and he said "no a computer". Yes I felt stupid but who cares . I may consider a surfy bear. It's nice to play music in a room with no computer in sight. To each their own and thank you

Being a drummer and a huge fan of 80’s music, I was excited when Behringer released the LmDrum. 80’s drum sounds were legendary, and Behringer appears to have gone to great lengths to authentically reproduce the most iconic drum sounds of that era. In this presentation, I breakdown LmDrum's features, technical specifications, top panels controls, and rear panel to understand how this unit functions and how to use it. I hope this information serves useful.

I use equipment from 1986 to 1995. A lot of audiophiles are condescending towards people like me, even for working to cd quality, 16 bit and for using a different sample rate to them. They also seem to have acoustically treated 'listening rooms' with extremely expensive chairs in there..Each to their own!
@tyronebaker882810 күн бұрын
First and foremost it’s art( or should be) to each his own . We use have use something as simple as a Tascam DP06 and have had so great success. Currently using a DP02 and will likely up grade. On some of our music on ITunes has been listened to and I have often been asked what DAW was used I reply none. I have actually been accused of lying LOL . Good source point sound + good sound capture will equal a good sound. Some of the greatest recordings “ in my opinion “ have been done with a few room and instrument mikes all analog . How many of the KZbin DAW guru’s can produce something equal to Something say from Phil Spector or a long list of produces from the 50’s 60’& 70’ A good sound is a matter of personal preference anyway. BTW I have and use daily a tons of “ vintage equipment “

@tyronebaker8828 Great reply, thanks. I was using a dp-02fx. Unfortunately, when the 'shift' button breaks the thing is pretty much cooked, as I'm sure you can imagine. I hope that yours holds up, I really like the sound and the live mixing element on those things. I tried working with people who use DAWs, Ableton etc, it totally killed my groove, enthusiasm, and creativity. I now use hi8 tape format into a korg multitracker and mix to DAT! I love it. I love old 50's and 60's recordings and frankly find modern recordings sound overly processed and homogenised.

Fact : The GREATEST records of the last century were recorded and produced WITHOUT computers, daw's, and software. Statistics show that young people today are listening to the music of the 60s, 70's, and 80's, and the older generation, are still listening to the music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, that they grew up with. And all that music was recorded without computers, daws, and any form of software.
