I wanted to return and do an in-depth sound demo on this unit after my first presentation on it. I thought I would share a more focused view this round, with anyone interested on how MV-5 actually sounds. This unit many be old and discontinued, but it’s still very useful and effective.

I dont like to criticize but i dont think your unit is set up correctly, i have a good ear for major and minor harmonies it just didnt sound like the machine is properly set up. Currently i have a line 6 pod hd pro x modeler which has a harmonizer for guitar. I haven’t tried it with vocals but it wont just grab frequencies out of the air. My guitar needs to be tuned to specific guitar tuning fx. I am not an engineer so i dont know if im saying this stuff correctly but harmonies shouldn’t hurt your ears. Before i can play a lead for a song and use the harmonizer btw mine only gives me 3 part which is plenty ask The Bee Gees who still are alive. Ive got to set the key like a , I’ve got to set if its major or minor plus a couple other yech things like 5ths etc. i usually turn the processor on and play the solo i think im going to play all the way through. On your machine i didnt see any of the adjustments i mentioned. Ive tried for the fun off it playing a solo with it set to A maj when i needed Am ouch. It doesn’t work. I think the word im looking for is dissenent notes. Anyway all i can say is i know how a harmony is supposed to sound. Your examples and im not blaming you, to my ears are not harmonious and i understand there’s different kinds of music but I’ve never heard harmony intentionally sounding like that. Again no offense. Ive subscribed to you as you seem knowledgeable about the Tascam model 12 which i just purchased last week and I’ve been searching youtube for specific ways the model 12 functions. Matter of fact i purchased the unit from a guy on ebay selling it as broken for parts only. Except he turned it on and i could see the us working perfectly which tells me he’s doing something wrong. He tried to get the transport to move for hours. Well you’ve got to create a song and put an SSD card in i think otherwise you hav no storage. Anyway I paid 240 bucks for a brand new not a scratch perfectly functioning. Model 12. I had a little trouble understanding at first how to upgrade the firmware. I couldent find a video explaining i needed to unzip the firmware and move it to the utility folder in a formatted d’s card. I now have firmware v 1,41 awesome i usually am not that lucky and my bid was at 180 till some dildo at 4 seconds left bid it up to 240. Current price of te model 12 is 599. So im happy. Thanks for your videos. C urious when you sanf your part did you play the first note so you knew you were at 440?

Ciao, grazie per per condividere la tua esperienza con il midi vocalist digitech mv5. Ti scrivo in italiano ma tu puoi tradurre. Ho un problema. Forse puoi darmi una mano. Ho collegato il midi vocalist ad un pianoforte elettrico via midi. Funziona tutto ma non quando uso il tasto transpose. Qualche volta il cantante ha bisogno di suonare un tono più basso o più alto. Ma uso il pulsante transpose i cori non si allineano alla voce. Posso fare qualcosa? Spero tu possa aiutarmi. Grazie

do u know why i get little dry sound coming from the output even tho dry knob is turned all the way down?

Great video thank you! My unit works perfect except for the vocoder. No audio is coming out of the box. The midi led is blinking while i play notes on my keyboard but i have no sound. Do you have any clue? 😢

Problem solved by changing midi channel… 😉
