what gauge of strings do you use? and what do you think would be ideal for B standard?

I use 45-105 Rotos.. It really will depend on how you play and the bass.. make sure if you tune down a 4 string setup for E standard down to B, your truss rod is adjusted for the lack of tension in the strings. Otherwise your neck will bow downward. have your local luthier do this if you are unable.

This a top 3 Type O song on my list. My favorite play along music as well with my instruments. I got a nice new to me bass in my mid 50s to replace the one I had in my teens to 30s. I then went to drums and back to keys at the same time. I'm originally trained on a cello so my transition back to bass was ever so smooth. Fellow picker here too. 🤟🏻
