Thank you so much. It was super useful to hear about this from someone. Who’s a patient rather than just a doctor. And it’s amazing how well educated and clear you are in a way that I can understand super well. This is really helping me to better understand some of what my dad is going through right now.Stay strong. You sound like an amazing person and thank you for sharing this story.

The world stopped for me in 2022. My daughter has stage 4 ALM. Doesn’t seem to be any treatment for her. It’s in her bones and her pain level is so high it throws her into shock. Only Morphine/Tramadol numbs it out a little. She had all the immunotherapies you mentioned as well as Opdualag. It didn’t help, in fact, it just added to her issues, due to the extreme side effects of doing that. And, she can’t sleep. This is horrible. Seems there is no research done for ALM. It seems like the stem cells are the real issue but, the doctors know nothing about them or how to stop them from growing. If anyone knows anything about this disease (ALM), please share your thoughts. Thank you

I am so sorry to hear of your Cancer Journey, my husband too has Squeamous Carcinoma of the skull that was penetrating to his brain, he was lucky that so far it has not got there. He is on Immunotherapy for 2 years, he has another 12 months to go. Squeamous Cell Carcinomas are more aggressive than Basel Cell skin Cancers. My husband has half his nose removed as well as other skull lesions being treated. I commend your bravery and resilience to this horrible disease. Keep strong and god bless 👍

Dave, power to you and hang in there. I just want to say as a 62yo male I have been going through an almost identical journey as you including blistering sunburns as a child and scc on my right shoulder the metastasized to lymph nodes in right am pit. Then to lungs and latest is tumor on my spine. Multiple surgeries, chemo and radiation and currently one year into immunotherapy (keytruda). Unfortunately inoperable tumor in armpit and it’s big but slowly getting smaller with immunotherapy. Strange thing is and you described it perfectly is the occasional kaleidoscope vision issue. That started with me about a year ago. Wondering if there is anyway we can connect? I’m in Colorado USA. Stay strong.

Brandon I’m so proud of you. I’m 12 and I think I have melanoma it is a brownish spot that is about 3-4 mm wide and it has a uneven jagged border and I am scared it’s melanoma but my parents say it’s nothing and it’s a mole. I keep telling them I am scared an I want a checkup say to wait if it gets bigger but I think if it gets bigger it will be to late for me and I will die and im afraid I think I might not live for longer and this feeling of thinking I might die is gut wretching.

Thank you for viewing our video. Sharing with your parents this fear may allow for a deeper conversation to be had and highlighting the need to have your spot checked. Too young for skin cancer???? Absolutely ridiculous. I have cared for an 18 month old in the hospital with ovarian cancer, and my co worker gave birth to her last child who was born with kidney cancer. My friend’s 3 year old daughter was having some obvious symptoms, they took her to the family doctor, she tested positive for sugar in her urine and the doctor said she was too young for type 1 diabetes!!!!! News flash….type 1 diabetes used to be called juvenile diabetes because it is typically diagnosed in children and there is no such thing as being too young to have type 1 diabetes! My friend’s child was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes several days later when the parents further pursued a diagnosis. NEVER accept a doctor telling you that you are too young for a diagnosis. I am terribly frustrated with these doctors who dismiss the patient’s story/history without doing a thorough examination/inquiry. Never underestimate the value of being your own advocate. And it helps greatly if you have someone/loved one supporting you with your advocacy. ❤️ I am a former long time emergency nurse.

I was diagnosed late spring of 22. Stage 3c. The day of tje biopsy of a weird freckle on my arm, the lymph nodes on my collarbone blew up. My primary saw me the same day and was very concerned i had cancer of a major organ. Long story short, i was lucky, only 3 of the 26 were affected. But immunotherapy is not an option because i have lupus. The risk of severe health problems is too great for the small chance itd work. A year of getting scans every few months and then lymph nodes in my armpit showed up enlarged. Went through biopsy and then surgery in Oct of 23. Once again, ive lucked out, only a handful of the bunch and tissue were affected. But once again, i cant do immunotherapy. The risk is to great because i have lupus. So here i sit, scans in a couole weeks feeling like i have a big target on me. Again. Ive changed my diet, i take turkey tail mushrooms, exercise more. Doing what i can but feeling helpless.

@yug15. I'm 1 year since my axillary nodes removal. My oncologist has deemed me NED..no evidence of disease. I alternate rounds of ivermectin and fenbendazole. I take hcq for lupus. I have good and not so good (I won't say bad!) Days. Overall I'm doing much better and am looking into alternative treatments for the if n when it returns.

I was diagnosed stage 3c metastatic melanoma summer 22. The day the dermatologist biopsied that odd little freckle, the lymph nodes blew up on my collarbone. My primary saw me immediately. He was very grim and informed me that presentation usually means major organ involvement. I got a referral to be seen by a general surgeon. He referred me for a biospy and i was lost in the system for nearly 2 months, despite calling repeatedly where the referral stood. The results were posted to My Chart before that Dr called. The horror of reading Metastatic Melanoma with zero explanation. I called my primary who referred me to a leading specialist. Things moved fast. Thankfully, my PET came back clear other than the collarbone. Had those removed, only 3 of the 26 affected. I was lucky. Immunotherapy was/is not an option as I have Lupus and risks outweigh the benefits. Did my scans every 3 mo. Got to my 1 year mark and the lymph nodes in my armpit, same side affected. I was very upset my oncologist cancelled my PET scan stating he has a "good idea" what's happening. I'd still like to know myself. Had surgery to remove the axillary nodes last October. Once again, a small percentage were affected. I developed a stubborn seroma and went through nearly 5 months of drains, scans and radiology visits. My next round of scans are in a couple weeks. The anxiety is horrible. The waiting. Not having any type of treatment options..however, if there's no cancer presenting, what to treat? The small percentage immunotherapy would work to kill off the cells dispersed in my lymphatic system vs the high risk of having serious health problems and complications because of my autoimmune disorder makes it a "take it as it comes" situation. I see my oncologist in a few weeks. I've had a lot of time to build a question and answer session. I've learned we have to be our own researchers and advocates
