I'm confused. I bought my Denali series from Lowe's early last year, and it has a sear zone but no ceramic coating on the fire box. I can't find the model number matched anywhere online, but it does send me to Monument's website. It's like they added the sear zone to the non-Pro model, but I can't find one quite like mine anywhere else.

Looks like you can actually grab the gas cap when it's wet/cold/slippery, too. I have a '22 of this model, and the gas cap SUCKS. It's smooth, low, tight, and semi-recessed into the tank. None of those nice, chunky perimeter teeth like this one has. It's annoyingly tough to grab during anything but ideal conditions -- a real PITA. The gas tank is too small, too, so you you're gonna need to use that gas cap many times during the winter. Hopefully the '25 model has a bigger tank.
@DeadBrokeBBQ

I am still waiting to use it! Ha ha. But I guess it is just staying brand new longer!?!? Ha ha The cap is a big upgrade from a 22 model, seen a lot of people complain about it. Thanks for watching!

Great video and good install, very clean and it looks great. This was not available for my 30 Deluxe when i bought it but i used a Twin Cree light pods in the holes already in the Bucket and put a Milwaukee 18v Adapter between them. The adapter has the on/off switch so that was clean. The effect is amazing and no interfacing with the machines electric system. The main light still works as well. Its been used constantly since December as we have been blasted with snow here in Southern Georgian Bay Area.

So, what is that in hp? 20? 22? I think they used to rate hp on anything from 14 to 17 cc's p/hp. That would just be overkill for me, lol. I haven't had any snow where I live my old 824 (8hp24") Ariens couldn't handle yet. Heck, it takes a lot to bog down my ancient old Ariens 10M4 and it's a 4hp 24" Sno-Thro. Both of those engines are old flatheads.

I have the Platinum 24 SHO 369cc engine model from 2019. The 369cc engine produces 17 ft lbs of torque and about 11 horsepower. This new 389cc engine produces 19 ft lbs of torque which I would expect to produce about 11.5 horsepower maybe 12 horsepower at the most. Very very powerful for a 24” snowblower!

I’ll be getting a pellet grill for the first time this year and everyone is telling me to get the Traeger. I would like to get the elite, but I think it’s overpriced. I mean the base model is 799. The pro is $999, but the Elite is $1,599?

If I can help someone, I am glad I helped. KZbin no longer rewards you for staying within a community. I post only BBQ videos over at Smoked BBQ Source but here if I see a need to film a project, I will probably post a video. If you ever go to do this again, an easier way of getting through rivets is to grind them down with a dremel. Once you grind enough off you can take a nail punch and drive them out. I thought about adding LED's to my snowblower's intake housing, but I'd have to use an AC to DC voltage converter and capacitors and don't think I want to go through that much trouble considering I never blow at night anyhow. My old Ariens 824 has the oval halogen headlight in it and I figure that's good enough to make myself more visible when I'm at the end of my driveway turning around so I don't get ran over, lol. I have an ancient Ariens 10M4 made in 1965 I'm going to add LED's to as it has no light whatsoever, but I'll power them with a Craftsman 4ah 20v battery as I already have the battery holder and the 18w LED lights. If Ariens would make a retrofit light to work where the old halogen lamp is I'd buy that, or even an aftermarket place would make a plug & play one I'd do that.

The previous 24" Platinum had EFI (electronic fuel injection) which was a very complex and expensive substitute for a carburetor. It was $400+ of components to replace a $40 carb. You're the first and only to review this new model. Thanks so much. I'm about to replace my 36 year old Craftsman 26" 8 HP. which is just plain worn out. It has a one piece drive axle and is like dancing with with a big fat drunk woman. I always use "Stabil' in the gas and carb doesn't gum up. I run one tank with a fuel system cleaner also. I've never serviced the carb in 36 years and it still starts on one pull. Absolutely no reason for EFI. Very well done review.

Sooo.. Same old Traeger. No smoke, no high heat. I don't get it. My neighbor with his 780 Pro has to use a smoke tube and a torch. I've got a $299 700 series Pit Boss that smokes so much my wife makes me use apple pellets the tame the smoke taste. It also sears perfectly. All Traeger cares about is all the money they make on the pop lock ans drip pans. I want to like you Traeger, but someone in your pencil pushing department is holding you back.

Ricer - glad you got the Platinum series. I still have no clue why Ariens makes a Deluxe. Too busy trying to compete with non-competition. Ariens used to be the premium brand 50+ years ago and they need to refocus. The snow throw rate is based on the gearing and auger size, not CC. They all run at 3600 RPM, but when they have more HO, you can turn the auger/fan at a high RPM. Ariens plays with pully size so depending on your snow type, you can too. Easy swap.
@DeadBrokeBBQ
@DeadBrokeBBQ 14 күн бұрын
Wow thank you, Richard!! I never even thought of the pulley size!!! I kept thinking that maybe the propeller was different but from the specs I saw, both platinum models seemed the same. That is some awesome information you shared with me, thanks again!!! Ya the deluxe edition just seemed too weak, we don’t get a lot of 14” plus snowfalls here but we get plenty of 6” semi heavy packed accumulation. Now for the past 2 years it has been pretty quiet but I know our day is coming, so I wanted to get a much bigger machine compared to my 35 year old 521 Toro!! Ha ha I appreciate the comment and I do plan to do a few more of these types of videos. Just fun for me to film other stuff instead of always making BBQ videos!! Ha ha Thanks for watching!!

@@DeadBrokeBBQ I was born and raised in WI and used the shovel for years before my dad let me use the 1960's Ariens as a kid to snow blow the driveway in Niagara. About 15 years ago I worked at Ariens. It was great. Learned a lot since I got to be involved in all aspects as IT. Don't be afraid to change those pulley sizes since that changes the auger and fan at the same time. Unless you're really dragging down the motor, you have the HP to increase the ratio. Looking forward to your long term review of the LSG pellet grill. Still happy I bought mine with the help of your review..

@@RichardDePas heck ya! I might swap them out someday now that I know the actual difference is!! I still love the LSG, hands down still the best pellet grill I have ever ran!! Because of all the different videos I do for Smoked BBQ Source now, I really don’t use my LSG for normal cooking around the house bbq. I do use it for my catering and onsite special event cooking!! The last time I ran it was in November on 12 pork butts and like always, they came out perfect and all aroubd the same internal temps. Crazy how good that pit runs!! My Green Mountain smoker died after a decade of faithful, near perfect service. So I bought a Pit Boss…. I am not happy with it. Yes, it is better built. And a better “Grill”. But I don’t want a grill, I want a smoker. It wins in all categories EXCEPT the most important one. It is just an inferior smoker. Temps are all over the place. It just sucks at temp control. If you want to direct heat grill some chicken or pork, it’s the hands down winner. Otherwise, nope.
