Why does my Bonaire cooler dripping water all day long on my roof?? I dint use it that much either .. what is wrong with it?? Please someone help me ??!!!
@mattblechar28234 жыл бұрын
Yeah but an evaporative cooler works far better with cool cold water running through it. This wouldn't allow the cooler to work as efficiently as it could because the water would get warm since the water is recycling in the cooler itself and not exiting the cooler and filling back up with cold or cool water. That's why it is also best to always have your cooler in the shade.
@radioman1402 жыл бұрын
water temp has almost nothing to do with performance as noted in engineering studies (PG and E, SMUD, Edison). Water must go from the liquid to vapor phase. That is why the portable evap cooler ice cube trick is pure marketing and gets the first time buyer to bite (who then lists their cooler on craigslist)!
@WW-hr1hd Жыл бұрын
The water temp doesn't really matter much at all. It's not the "coolness" of the water that makes it work, it's the evaporation of the water that cools the air down. The same way that evaporating sweat cools your body down. That's why it's called an evaporative cooler and not a cold water cooler.

I watch the whole video, this is water conservation. Just enjoy and continue what you do as Colin Powell said, "A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." Your new neighbor here leaving my full love and hoping you will find time to see me at my home. God bless you.

This does nothing to stop overflow I wasted money following this video turns out the float valve was defective and continually ran water which cost money to run water all day and night. So I followed this video which did nothing because the problem was the faulty float valve so the water level is overflowing so basically your a moron and costing people money they don't need to spend. A long pvc pipe diverting your drain overflow to a nearby plant bed would be a better use of your money.

This is a terrible idea, I lose maybe a gallon a day running all day long and the bleed is for build up that will gunk up filters and lines. DO NOT RECYCLE the used water it ruins the lifespan of your unit for literal pennies you would save a month.

You will find that your pads are going to calcify up very quickly. How fast depends on how hard the water is in your area. The bleed water is to carry away the calcium, salt, and other minerals left behind after evaporation. The majority of them easily carried away while they are still dissolved in your pan water. There are many different options to accomplish this. Some bleed a slow trickle constantly. some have a bleed timer and purge the water after a set amount of time each day or several times a day. Mine has a sensor that tests salinity. When its senses the dissolved salts/solids are too high it opens a purge valve draining the pan then filling it with fresh water. On a separate note. TALK on your videos! We all haven't taken the KZbin Hellen Keller, Charades training course. That's how we all learn. The teachers talked, sometimes illustrated, and some even danced a little lol :)
@davem39454 жыл бұрын
if you're worried about wasting the water. Have the bleed water go into a rain barrel and use it in your yard. Be careful though it's got a high concentration of salt in it, and high salt will kill your plants.

Also. There is a plug where you can disconnect power to the purge pump. Why don’t you just do that? Or you don’t have to pull the purge pump line trough the bottom and just let it go right into the reservoir tank.
@jtsburn5 жыл бұрын
Just installed and turned on my Bonaire. I am concerned about how much it is actually purging. Like at least a 16 oz every 30 seconds. Is that normal? I understand you did this to save that water but damn, that’s a lot of water haha!

A cheep $5 garden sprayer from Walmart (Don't use it for anything else) White Vinigar diluted 40% with water. Take the unit cover off with the pads still attached to the cover spray the pads well (front and back) with the garden sprayer of vinigar, let it sit.Then drain the unit of the water. Spray the inside of the unit with the garden sprayer. Then I hose the pads clean and then the inside of the unit. Then with a rag and water wipe the fan blades. I do this at the start of the season to use the unit, the middle, and at the end before draining the unit for the season. Pads are 5 years old and stillin good shape. The vinigar cleans the calicum and disinfects. I don't need to wear gloves, smell dangerous chemicals, or worry about the pets or kids getting sick from it. $ 2.25 for a gal. and I only use 1/2 a gal. I have drip line attached to the bleeder line with a watering head that can beshut off or adjusted to control thebackon water flow.Once a week after the sun goes down, I shut the unit off and open the water head into my plants for about 30-45 minutes. Then I wait about 10 minutes and turn the unit back on. I have also lightly sprayed the outside of the unit with the cooler pads while it is running to give it a fresh smell in the house. I hope this helps someone. P.S. we have very hard water here and I do not have filtered watergoing to the unit.

Your grasp of why the Durango cooler bleeds off water is all wrong. The filter you have installed catches debris but the reason for having the bleed off is to prevent your cooler from becoming a mineral concentrator. Look up TDS (total dissolved solids). Soluble minerals in water cannot be removed with this type of "filter".
@malakhpearson72856 жыл бұрын
MrNorris784 hahaha say whatever you want, it works for me. I conserve thousands of cubic of water from this bonaire. California summer sucks but I love saving my money and CA's water. It easy to clean up every calcium from it, and my cooler runs 9 hours straight everyday. Temperature drop by 15 degrees.
@MrNorris7846 жыл бұрын
So can you please explain to your videos viewers exactly what it is that you are filtering out of the cooler's water with your setup?

noooo don't use that chemical crap they sell at the dollar store, it's for the toilet. That stuffs is gonna make you sick man
@kironoschannel7 жыл бұрын
Actually, CLR is a recommended cleaning product for most mineral buildup from hard water. The crap that clogs up the cooling pads is a combination of calcium and other various minerals. CLR is a mild acid that breaks down the deposits. As long as you rinse off the cleaner when you're done, you won't have any issues.
@bonholio0o7 жыл бұрын
nooOOOOOOoooooo, use VINEGAR!!! then water it down, let it dry then shop vac. Try that combination a few times. If you're living alone then sure do as you are pleased but don't use this stuff when you have kids around man, it'll make your whole family sick!

Abandon - I don't see any connection or whatsoever regarding the float. the purpose of a float is to control the volume of water not to recycle the water back to its tank. The drip filter catches dirt, calcium beads and grimes before it pump back to the basin/tank.

I also have a Bonaire 5900, great cooler! Thanks for your videos, was glad to find someone else that uses CLR to clean the pads. Ever since day one, the unit is a little over a year old now, I have had an odd issue that I hope you might have experienced, or perhaps it is two issues. First, the air coming from the top half is warmer than the bottom half, only slightly, but noticeable. Second, the very top INSIDE of the front pad is bone dry. While the unit is running, I take a flashlight and look at the inside of the pad, through the fan. Of what I am able to see of the pads appears to be adequately wet, except for the very top of the front pad, inside only. The outside of the pad is wet. Any ideas? Thanks!

Materials: ✓✓✓ 1.) Part# 077985040840 1pc. 3/4 Drip Filter- also reusable. Sold by Home Depot. 2.) Part# 077985020452 2pc. 3/4in drip adapters. Sold by Home Depot. 3.) Clear hose 1/4 ID. 2ft. (Return hose). Why clear pvc tube? ...because the water flow is so visible!. I preferred POLYURETHANE tubing safe operating temperature 40° -165° 100 - 200 psi and or just use garden landscape drip tubing 1/4 OD. 4.) Teflon tape. Blue (to leak seal all plastic threads). 5.) Drill. (Drill bits must be smaller in diameter than the actual outside diameter size of hoses). 6.) Zip ties 7.) A little know how. (You don't need to be an ideal brainiac). Note: "Don't forget to reattach the black plastic bleeder valve to your clear pvc tube/hose end's tip. Draining and cleaning the drip filter regularly is a must just like doing an engine oil change!". This filter can trap even the smallest calcium and dirt particles. (Filter canister hand tight only). Good luck. ®

Malakhpearson - This is a great idea, thanks for posting the video and the complete parts list. I had no real place to run my bleed off water other than into a 5 gallon bucket which had to be emptied twice a day. What a pain, thanks again.
