Thanks for this marvel. I didn't knew before.. I knew of Adele Girard who played harp with Joe Marsala groups... and Harpo, but I don't know if he played jazz

Ms. Ashby just swings with such graceful force. Frank Weiss puts the crowning touch just floating on flute, and that rhythm section is anchored by the underated bassist Wendell Marshall. The just cook! Thanks for posting.

Old Frisco with its end of land sadness...this is describing the indescribable, a job of work that can only be executed by rare Angels, discarded and misunderstood individuals who remain with us, only for a short poignant time. While they are here we begrudgingly accord them a little fame, a little money perhaps (not very often). KZbin the vast library of today's Alexandria, taken very much for our granted attention.

Great album thanks for posting. An earlier time in Dorothy Ashby's music when it was not seemingly swamped by an arranger (though the Rubaiyat is a wonderful exception) Recommend the Fantastic Jazz Harp of Dorothy Ashby LP to anyone
