Also there are definitely people who still spit in public because there is still a huge smoking population who get chronic pharyngitis and so tend to spit but younger people and people in big cities smoke less and people tend not to spit if the environment is too clean. So things are still improving.

I live in Shanghai and often traveling to cities all over China. I must say there are definitely “rude” people who speak loudly in public especially in a group, people who turns on speaker of phone/pad especially in trains, and people who cut in lines especially when in a rush or don’t wait for pedestrians while driving. But they rarely intentionally want to be rude and disrespectful, they are just used to doing things that way for their own convenience or in urgency. If you point out, they usually correct and behave better.

For example, an Indian man took off his shoes on the high-speed rail and put his feet on the high-speed rail table. There was also an Indian woman who rode a bus without paying, stole other people's shared bicycles, and even ordered passers-by to give her a ride for free. SO horrible.

I got scammed in New Delhi Railway station and the scammer was right at the security check point. He asked me to produce my train ticket and then says the ticket is not confirmed and i have to get a new one or go back to the office in cannought place and get it confirmed. He almost got me and I was to the point of taking a ride back to cannought place and when i ask for the address he instead asked me to buy a ticket from him for the next train to Agra, then I felt a little suspicious and ran towards the ticket counter and showed my ticket to check if everything is okay and the guy told me all good and gave me the platform number I needed to board.. this made me so pissed and when I came back to the security check point again the scammer was gone as he knew he was scamming. what's appalling is that the real security team at the check point and the scammers are working together.
