In Cambodia We also use qr code called Bakong Tourist or local bank app for payment, in this video the women who sells dumpling asked you to scan qr code if you don't have currency.

The price for taxi in the airport is a lot more expensive than booking from Grab due to the airport fee. The drivers have to registered and paying a percentage to the airport per ride.

An interesting and cool walkabout in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. It's quite a nice place/town afterall. Sihanoukville used to be nice back in 2015 before the Chinese came in and destroyed it with too many casinos and high rises. They made many of the locals move out or become homeless. Many of the tourists that used to go there don’t go there anymore and call it chinoukville.

You are wrong that the local currency is barely used. Quite the opposite now as you hardly see any 1/5/10s anymore. Better stick to local currency then the hassle with exchange and fake USD bills that are passed on some times.

Nice that you made video about Sihanoukville. Few points though... 06:00 $20 is the official airport taxi price. It's the French airport owner who set the price. Grab and other app taxis and tuktuks are not allowed inside airport. They pick you up from the airport gate. Though it's just 50 meter walk to the gate. 09:00 The hotel where you stay is actually not Chinese but Malaysian-Singaporean group owned who owns also few big hotels in KL and Penang. 14:30 Why you have to point Chinese text all the time. Basically every shop, like this massage shop, has biggest text in Khmer and Chinese and English text. 16:30 For couple years already now, the local currency is preferred. Only when you are buying expensive stuff, you usually pay with dollars only. Anything under $20 is done in Riels nowadays. 21:15 about 10% of unfinished buildings have actually continued construction this year. It's expected that next year around 20%-30% more will continue. 25:51 The water flowing was just water from the constructions site. It had rain earlier the day and they needed to pump water out of hole. Water is actually very clean.

Chinese bring development and prosperity to the locals, thus you see all the stores are also in Chinese. Also Sihanoukville is a coastal city, so it’s trying to become a hot beach destination for tourists, I think!

i read feedbacks of customers at this hotel and they say they smell smoke as people smoke and have even smoking floors, not sure i want to stay there, you agree?

I have went eat there multiple times, great buffet btw, and never really smell smoke inside there. Only where they really smoke is casino floor.

Not really taximafia in this case. It's just its official airport taxi. Grab etc.are not allowed to get in to airport. So the price is set by the French airport operator.

@@AuntyJack123 Well cannot call taxi mafia, if it's the French airport operator making rules. Taxi mafia it would be if it would taxi drivers not allowing others there, but in this case it's the airport operator. Everywhere else in Sihanoukville taxi, grab, etc is cheap and can enter anywhere.

It's from next door construction site.It's just water/mud/sand mix as they are emptying from hole/xcavation after rains . The sea water is actually very clean.
