What was the docking cost for a night stay in Poros?
@SailingUlaАй бұрын
Hi, we never actually moored on the dock, we just stayed on anchor. Sorry I can't help with that one.

Very sad to read that you are selling ULA and going to live on land full time.. You have provided many hours of fantastic entertainment for myself and many others. Best wishes from Auckland NZ
@SailingUla3 ай бұрын
Thank you Keith, but hold that thought! After a lot of discussion we realised that there really was no alternative to this life we currently have, so we are now going to keep Ula for the foreseeable future, or until we no longer have the capability to sail safely! We will continue to make videos, and hopefully they will have plenty of content for people to enjoy!

Really glad I’ve found this channel. Me and my wife have just sold our canal boat in the hope of learning to sail and eventually getting a sail boat of our own. We’ll be binge watching this channel

Yes it is super noisy, wouldn't have been our choice but it was already on the boat when we purchased it.

Kos is tourist driven nothing opens in kefalos or kardemena till after Easter every year most bar and restaurant owners go away for the winter kardemena has 3 restaurants that open all winter that's it it's pretty dead unless you go to kos Town, kalymnos is different the locals tend to look after each other spending time in restaurants and bars keeping them open mostly in pothia through the winter it also has a longer season due to its mountain climbers kalymnos being the 2nd biggest climbing destination in Europe

Grenada has so much beauty with its beautiful waterfalls, lush green forest and the wildlife, also the beautiful beaches, rum distillery and chocolate factory, not forgetting the climate and the friendly people, it has so much to offer, on my bucket list.

Hi Hayden, we upgraded to a Beneteau 46 in October last year and then went straight on an Atlantic crossing as crew for friends. We have been sailing Ula since Feb this year, but not put any videos together as we are covering the same Turkish coastline as we have previously. From Feb 2024 we will start making more as we will be heading into the Ionian, Montenegro & Albania. The following year will be the big one as we will cross the Atlantic on Ula! Thank you for watching, it means a lot!

Big shame on the new cats , they changed from a good size over lapping genoa , to a tiny jib , alot less flexibility. 1 or 2 reefs in the main , you can put the boom out further , and keep the sail of the rig , and catch more wind ,

Hi guys, great video. I'm interested in what was causing the chaffing. We are just about pick up our Isla 40, and it would be good to know what's causing it.
@peterlibretto4517 Жыл бұрын
Chafing was definitely an issue, when we sail in the Med, it was generally upto 12 hours unless we did a couple night sails. When you cross the Atlantic, your sails are up 24 hours a day for upto 19 days, so the slightest chafe on a line is going to continue for the duration. To avoid breaking lines, every other day we lowered the geneker and moved the halyard round about a foot, therefore moving the 3 chafe points round to a fresh part of the line, we could probably have pushed it out to every 3rd or 4th day but didn't want to risk it. Hope this helps

Great to find a KZbin vid of an Australian Cat sailing across the Atlantic, especially one from my home City of Brisbane, I also saw Let`s Dance in the Rally. I trust You had a Enjoyable and Safe Passage. David. Down Under.
@SailingUla Жыл бұрын
As ever on these long passages we had a few minor problems, but overall the crossing was safe and enjoyable. Later videos will cover a few of the inconvenient issues that arose. Lets Dance are great friends and sailing buddies, just a little quicker in a straight line 😄
