I also put them around the garden fence for the chickens, I release insects inside of the garden like ladybugs and praying mantis. Chickens protect the outer perimeter, and don't overlook geese, they do just as good of a job

Slugs are the one pest that really bother me, I can't bring myself to eat something from the garden that I know for sure had slugs feeding on it. Ever since I learned about rat lung worm disease I'm not going to risk it at all, just better to compost it. People get rat lung worm disease just from eating lettuce that had snails or slugs feeding on it.

Also the sun light beams divert below… if the water remains clean it a quick water source .. the real mystery is that the plants know they have water near them and a good caretaker .. the mist might be little depends on how much water it around but in Nature that little goes a long way misty morning … water source passing life forms at night .. if life such as algae and moss gross means life is present and most plants can grow there .. where the water container is earth worms gather especially if u put the container on leave and garden debris

I don't agree with the buckets because too many mosquitoes would propagate and it's not good.

I guess it really gets better with time. I am trying the deep mulch but struggling with thistle and bind weed badly. I dont think I used enough wood chips? Can I use leaves too? I want a healthy soil and know this works after studying some permaculture. I keep getting talking into tilling and chemicals..... Another question, I have grass in the spot I want my garden, should I just remove the grass and then add compost and wood chips mulch so its even with the rest of the yard? Thanks

You might want to put black plastic on the area for a month or so before covering with mulch to start. I got some grass coming through in the new part where the mulch got thin. I us what ever organics I can get my hands on to cover and remember 4 inches min. and 9 or a bit more is good to start with. I have a play list showing all about the mulch we use. Thank you for visiting and please keep me posted on what you do.

Hello Weyland, I moved to a different part of Ohio and the soil here is nothing but clay and rocks. I started a big garden 1/2 way thur the summer I gave up. I Just walked away cause This new soil is horrible. At my old house I had put so so much money in the dirt and had a wonderful garden and grew a lot. I thank you for this video because you spoke on things I did and should not have done. Like tilling the ground , thank you next year I will not till God willing, thank you for your in site, God bless you , stay In Christ Jesus

I am harvesting some of my sweet potatoes this coming weekend. I can’t wait. I have two more beds. I just checked a container that I was hoping was growing sweet potatoes and they weren’t so I made slips and replanted them and I brought another slip inside. Not sure what I’ll do, we’ll see.
