We have a family-owned business that makes headstones. Tragically, we sometimes have to make them for beautiful children who have passed. I do all the proofreading of the layouts before the families get them for review. I was proofreading one tonight, and on the back of the headstone, they had a “poem” titled ‘Winter Bear’. As I read it, I thought, ‘well this is really beautiful, and I haven’t seen this before’….. so I googled it, and found this video. Although I have seen many headstones and touching tributes to children over the years, this video reduced me to tears. I had to walk away from my desk for a few minutes. As a mother and grandmother, this song and its bittersweet message pierced my heart. Thank you Coby for making such a perfect song speaking to the fragility of love, life, and broken hearts.
