I was inquiring about selling ACA and an agency was willing to help, very nice people they seem. However I'm new and not sure if this is normal. They want my password for Producer World (I'm not doing Medicicare Advantage with them, just ACA). They said that's their policy otherwise I can't sell Aetna with them. Is this ok?

Now you're talking! It's not about winning, it's about facts. I don't care what kind of business, it's very difficult to start and be successful and that's why very few agents make it in this industry. Only the strong survive and that's why you should never give up something that's bringing regular income in until you can see for sure that Is the right thing to do and you can easily pay your bills with your insurance income and no longer need the other job. Otherwise buckle up and plan on having a lot of money, like any business startup, to get it going.... Thanks Luis as the content is good.
@edward2209
@edward2209 5 күн бұрын
Just have access to $30,000 to $50,000 and you'll be fineyou'll be fine. There are definitely other expenses including the fact that the money comes in slow just like Luis said. But he also said you can make $300,000 first year. I don't know which is it. Let's do a poll😂. You ain't getting hundreds of clients the first year unless you know what you're doing and have a year-round table and chair at the entrance of a Walmart store or something similar. In other words it's not happening.. You might have hundreds of prospects, but not hundreds of clients. Getting hundreds of clients takes a long time. And of course all that depends on the amount of money you spend on leads. I could go on and on here but please, please, please nobody believed the fact that they can instantly make all this money. It's not the lottery. It's hard work and like any other business, takes time to maturate into something prosperous!!!!
@thinkmedicarethinkaca
@thinkmedicarethinkaca 5 күн бұрын
Edward, you win!! Good luck to you! If all I did was write dissertations on why someone can't make it, I wouldn’t have the time to actually make it. You're absolutely right that getting hundreds of clients doesn't happen overnight. It takes hard work, persistence, and time to see real results. Building a business in insurance, like any other field, requires dedication and investing wisely in leads and resources. It's possible to make significant income, but only if you’re willing to put in the effort and treat it like a business, not a quick win. Wishing you success on your journey!

What kind of bull shit are you slinging Luis? Maybe after 3-4 years, maybe one in a thousand can do that 1st year, The short answer to that question is no. You should have just told the dude no. Because you can't pump smoke up people's butts. Why don't you talk about the cost of the leads. They'd have to spend $75,000 to maybe make $300,000. That's providing they're good enough with their they're training that they have no time to do to be able to close these deals. 30,00/ to 100,000 net is more realistic for a full-time agent the first year. What you should have told him is that he should have start out slowly build a book while he keeps his other job and then cut back on the other job when this starts going well. Maybe this isn't his forte. You're leading people the wrong way dude.... They just CRM sucks there are many better ones out there but go ahead and listen to Luis and then you'll find out the hard way.... A lot of good content, but also a lot of pie in the sky content..... And then let's also keep in mind that very few agents make it in the industry. Just because you're successful in the automotive industry doesn't mean you're going to be successful in the insurance industry. Yeah, it's all about you normally however, it might not be as good as what you got now. Find a side gig and keep the other job at 40 hours or whatever. I'm sure your boss would love to have 40 as opposed to nothing if he's paying you that well!
@thinkmedicarethinkaca

First, thank you for taking the time to share your perspective-I appreciate the honesty. In my experience working with agents and reviewing their performance, hitting 1,000 clients isn't as unrealistic as it may seem. I’ve seen many agents reach those numbers with the right training and systems in place. I understand you may have had a different experience, and I can sense some frustration in your message, but I believe it's important to acknowledge that everyone's journey in this industry is unique. Regarding your comment on the investment: if someone spends $75K and makes $300K, that's a solid return. In my case, I invested $40K and made over $400K. It’s certainly not the outcome for everyone, but agents who are motivated, driven, and have a well-structured sales process can achieve great results.
@edward2209
@edward2209 5 күн бұрын
I appreciate the fact you took the time to reply because it would have been be easy not to. But let's do a little math here $300,000 - let's say, $75,000 for leads would be $225,000, not 300,000. The dude asked if a new agent could make $300,000 the first year. The answer is 100%. No! The training would take far more than a year to be skilled enough to make that kind of money. Sure, an agent who has been in the business for a while and understands the ropes could make that kind of money. Nobody brand new will make that kind of money in the first year. Just getting all the licenses needed will take somebody over a month. And then you have all the certifications from the carriers, that's more time. Then you truly have to understand everything to be able to make swift decisions. Yeah with a nice up line that is willing to stop and help you that'll definitely be that contagious, but let's all get real. I want you to show me the last person who made $300,000 in their first year being brand new in the business! Ain't possible!

There isn't a shortage. Plus, every year, rates change and there is lots of movement between carriers. Those agents that fall asleep and don't help their insureds, they will lose out
