Everyone is complaining in the comments about reliability and it being a Ford simply dont understand how effective this truck really is, you get to tow 7500 pounds with a 4 Cyl that is the best value spec out there where an equivalent Toyota is currently $10k more as an example and doesn't tow as much these. Thanks for the review. Pro tip you can run the tremor rear suspension to improve the ride.

@@thomasanthony9328 I agree 💯.I had a 22 Tacoma TRD Off-road.The STX beats it hands down IMO.Ive seen where Ford is bumping production to meet buyers needs.I sure appreciate the feedback and enjoy your Ranger.

@@richardhouvener6423 You are correct. I used the GoPro. That I normally don’t use .Need to get a mount so I don’t carry with my hand I did notice that too. I even went back to other videos that I know I used it on, and it did the same thing.

You have the same vehicle we do - a 2024 Ranger and the latest generation Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. However my Ranger is an XLT with all the options and 2WD. So it has dual air, heated power seats, and adaptive cruise control. Only thing I wish it had is a sunroof. I really like it though and enjoy driving it. I also really like the auto hold feature which maintains the brake when you come to a stop. That really spoils you. While I have had several trucks - all full size, I mainly owned them for utility not so much because I really wanted them. I liked my 2012 Ram 1500 pretty well. It drove nice and was comfortable, it was too big. I did my research this time and really did a detail comparison of different brands this time. I ended up ordering the Ranger because I wanted it in a particular color and with all the options I was looking for. It seems to be a perfect fit for me in and has surpassed my expectations. BTW, I have been been averaging 23-24 mpg city/hwy combined using eco mode.

The XLT’s I tested were sweet,they seem to be loaded up more than the previous gen.The wife loves her grand Cherokee.Ive had a few F150 in past really liked them but the Ranger is much more maneuverable.When I got my Ranger I was going through the screen and saw the Hold ✋🏼I’ve used it ever since.Im like you reallly like that feature.I think the Ranger is only midsize truck you can get sun roof unfortunately.But they are great trucks really enjoying .Thanks for checking in ,keep on enjoying your Ranger my freind.

Do you have all the options but not 4wd? I assume you have the 6 cylinder since you have all the options?

@tomcat6933 - Yes, mine is 2WD. The V6 wasn't available when I ordered it back at the first of April 2024. But I loaded it up with all the main options - XLT High Package, Advanced Tow package with Tech package and trailer backup assist, trailer brake controller, locking rear diff, and the chrome package which comes with the bed side steps behind the back wheels. There were a lot of add-ons you could order like rubber floor mats, decals, and bed covers and such, but the only ones I ordered was the spray-in bedliner, sidesteps, and splash guards. I thought the bed covers Ford offered were rather pricey, so I ordered that separately and installed it myself.

@tomcat6933 - I'm right there with you. I retired last year and had a full-size Ram 1500 and always felt it was too big for me. I got tired of having to get on a ladder just to wash the hood. Plus, the Ranger seems to fit me like a glove.

@@tedantares2751 Me too. I had a 96 Tacoma the first year they came out with them. It had manual transmission. And I had a 2018 Jeep Wrangler sport with manual transmission. I think the only manual transmission you can get is in the Tacoma’s and maybe the gladiators unfortunately I think in a few years that will be a thing in the past.

@@OldWorldHandyman I would love to try the 2.7, especially with as much pep as the 2.3 has. Yes rear defrost and heated mirrors. I do park in the garage, but we’re supposed to get freezing rain sleet tonight tomorrow and into Monday so that would be nice if I had to get out.

Due to all the engine components on new vehicles that has been replaced by the dealer and will cost thousands of dollars for each part to be replaced i can not see the average person like me can not afford a new vehicle

@@rickyarmstrong9267 You are correct,everything is so expensive.I purchased gap insurance for first time,I was worried that if something did happen to truck I couldn’t afford to pay difference.Thats one reason I went with base model.It has all I need (except dual climate haha).To save as much $$ as I could.Hopefully it will last for many miles.Thank you for checking in.I will keep everyone posted on how it does.

I have been changing my mobile 1 full synthetic every 5000 miles. It works for several vehicles over 200,000 miles and climbing.

you should change the oil at 500 miles new then 1000 miles and then 3000 miles after that Never run 5000 or 10000 miles that's how they sell more trucks

@@danthompson1467 I take it easy the first 1000 (never really drive hard ) .To break in.They used to tell me bring back to get oil changed at 500 or there about.10k is a long way to go,before changing.I usually get changed at 4k even if they put more on sticker in windshield.You can’t go wrong with 3,000 tho.

That's a big no...there are plenty of other ways to waste money besides tossing out perfectly good synthetic oil at 500, 1000, or even 3000 miles. 5000 mile oil changes are absolutely fine on a quality full synthetic oil.

Do you happen to know the measurements of the cooler at the actual outside bottom (base)? Ive seen the measurements on the website, but i think thats for the top which seems to be bigger. It doesn't clarify

I believe once you have your Barings, you could go to navigate. saved locations, choose your home location where you saved earlier and select navigate to there. This way it will not send you backwards on your path.

How are your brakes? Mine seem a little soft. Like the pedal goes pretty far to the floor before they really respond. Is yours that way? That’s my only complaint. I absolutely love this truck. It’s amazing in every way except for the brakes.

@@bryanrogers9714 This is my 3 rd Ranger.Had a 21,23 and now the 24. maybe I am used to them, but you are correct. The brakes can be soft. I think they’re better than that was on my 21 but there are times that it seems as though I’m pressing further to the floor ha ha.Great question and once again it isn’t just you the brakes can’t tend to be soft.

@ I bought the roadie 24 for trips to fit in the back floor of my Ram 1500, while it fits, it’s not optimal, especially with kids in the back and the wife bringing stuff along because it takes up a little more space than I thought. I just ordered this one and it should fit perfectly. Especially for a lunch box, replacing my yeti flip 8.

@@randothecomando Awesome,you will love it. I took it to deer camp a couple weeks ago. Temperatures were highs in the low 50s low in the upper 30s and it held ice for a week. It would be the perfect size also to fit behind your seat. My cousin has a Roadie 24 . That he throws it back of his pick up he’s a farmer. He beats that thing like a rented ox.😂 he loves it, and the yetis as you know are tough as nails.

PS. I’m being told that the 2024 Ranger has the 10-r-60 trans not the 10-r-80. The 10-r-80 is in the F-150 now.

The 2024 Ford rangers don't have the Ford 10r80 transmissions anymore. They have switched to the 10r60 transmission just like the Ford bronco. Thanks for the video

Not a bad mid-size pickup. I went with the Frontier SV 4x4 w technology package because I prefer a v6, but if I was in the market for a turbo 4 this would be it. That grey is really nice and the interior is decent, but it does need more old school buttons for basic functions...

You are correct in the $$$. But Turbos today are much different than per se turbos from decades ago.They will run for yrs. and 100k’s of miles.The Ranger never went out of production(just in US) .Was always in production over seas.That’s why IMO the other manufacturers in midsize went turbo,more power and a lot more torque.

I like my 2011 f150 5.0 but I'm eyeballing a Ranger. It would have to be the 2.7 tho. Probably a lariat too. Now the issue I have it's they're 50g's. That's ridiculous imo

@@lobbyrobby My cousin is a Chevy guy (most of the time) he is currently driving a F150 2011 model I believe with about 238,000 miles. He is in the market for a midsize truck. He looked at he hasn’t got one yet, but he looked at the Ranger with the 2.7.It was XLT . In my neck of the woods you can get a lariat 4x4 around 46k that’s with discounts.But the Lariat’s are super sweet for sure.

@@asmith4066 They do look like that. But unfortunately it wasn’t. My brother-in-law bought a TRD sport same year couple months after I got mine and his is doing the same thing. Hopefully on the new Gen of Toyota Tacoma’s on the white ones they fixed the paint problem and I think they have thank goodness.
