Been an admirer for a long time, followed a lot of your shows, (loved Dude You're Screwed), so fun! I learned a lot from you from the shows, . but, I never knew you sing too, and really good at that ! I enjoyed yet another side of you today. Man of many talents and a sincere heart. Blessings! Thanks.

Thanks matt. Any suggestions on some materials that could be easily collected in upstate new york that could work for hand drill method? Ive only ever done bow drill fires. Are the materials the same for each method? I found cedar and willow work very well for bow drill. Thx.

Wow! I,m just seeing all the kind comments, and feel overwhelmed with gratitude you took a moment to listen. This was the first song I felt inspired to write after learning to play the guitar. The guitar was a gift from Les Stroud after doing some consulting for him in the Sierra mountains. The words came by the firelight while I was still living in my earthlodge.

So a 10 bucks knife from china can do the same. And the soft steel would work well for survival since any tock can sharpen it. Unless you want to go all louise and clark i would not spend more then 20 bucks on a knife. Dont forget that is not a mythical tool, its just an edge and a stone or wood/bamboo would work as well depending on the task.

Hey Matt, Do you have anything new coming out? Shows, knives or gear. Would be great if you did a spin-off of dual survival.
