Such a beautiful creature. I am not the biggest fan of big spiders myself but I find those spiders to be highly ornamental and mystical creatures.

Hey Dan, how have you been? Are the spiders okay? Been a little bit and just wanted to say that your videos helped me get over my small (but apparent) fear of spiders, hope youre doing well.

That mature male spider you found was a segestria florentina. Tonnes of them in that area with their little tube webs.

I do like these guys, I’ve been there a few times. Not an invasive species, though they are non-native. One of my females just had a bunch of babies this morning, and they’re definitely one of my favourite species.

I absolutely adore small scorpion species. I have a bunch of them (T. flavicaudis, Chaerilus cimrmani, some general Chaerilus sp., Liocheles australasiae, Didymocentrus trinitarius) as well as some bigger species (Heterometrus sp., Pandipalpus viatoris, Hottentotta tamulus, Leiurus brachycentrus, Centruroides bicolor) and a lot of tarantulas plus a few reptiles. I really want to visit the UK to take a look at that invasive scorpion colony. We'll probably go next year :) It's definitely my favourite species due to its impressive adaptability, small stature, and feisty attitude :)

no different than keeping a dog in a house or in a yard, not nearly enough space for them to thrive or roam but weve done it for centuries, as long as they getting daily food it would gladly take this over getting devoured outside by a bird or a million other things

So why cant you just appreciate them in nature instead of enclosing them in a plexiglass box. I mean it has not near enough room in there to make her large webs and live a beautiful life.

I promise you, that is more than enough room for her to web and live as happily as she would in the wild.

@@slaughterdawgz no I doubt it. Do you see how big their webs can get? And tell me. If someone plucked you out of your home and put you in a box to be gawker at for the rest of your life. To not be able to broadly roam where you wanted how would you feel?

@@slaughterdawgz hmm so you can't think about if it were you? That's a crap cop out answer. " It's a spider". So it's just a spider there for you to look at and live however for your entertainment. I hope one day the tables turn and the spider traps you. Then gawks at you and says " tap dance for me betch we spiders need entertainment!" It pokes you everytime it wants your ass to dance. You wouldn't have any other of your species in there,same food everyday. No couch,no internet nothing. Imagine going stir crazy? I could understand keeping the spider for a little while to look at ,photograph,study for a few days but then set it free. But that's all I'm saying. Think about it.
@labswee7635
@labswee7635 Ай бұрын
@@jetta.silence6356 no animal is going to thrive when its kept as a 'pet', if you own a dog or a cat its the exact concept, they need fields and forests to run and play and hunt to truly live. However they would gladly choose a non ideal size of captivity (your house) if it meant a catered environment and endless food and safety over the outside where the lifespan would be cut in half by its dozens of natural predators and diseases
