So the easier way to do this type of thing is adding an exit tube at the top and another tube at the bottom. The lowest tube you have a steady slow stream of water slowly over time rising with the exit tube being the only way out. This flooding technique doesnt kill any healthy babies as they will be strong enough to climb away from the water surface. Also you can control how fast the water enters and even keep the water level at certain levels if need be. If your spiders container isnt water tight u can still use this technique by putting it in a bigger water tight container such as a bucket fish tank or bin. You can have a cap on the end of the exit tube to control how many you let out at once. Its worked for me and theirs reduced stress and loss of life in my opinion bc the spiders are just moving away from a water source like they would in the wild and you can collect almost all of them rather than just the ones you manage to catch it also eliminates any possible escaping babies that get away
