My 2017 Chevy Malibu was a real POS. Once I paid it off, it died at 127,000 miles. Catalytic converter, gasket issues, O-ring oil issues and even stayed with a constant 1 inch of water in the trunk. How the hell the truck stayed wet I don’t know. I would never buy a Chevy again.

I'm renting an LT right now, and like it a lot. It feels very planted on the road, not wobbly or easily pushed by the wind. Steering is tight. However, there's something about the Android Auto that's making me crazy. If you're listening to audio books or podcasts, and using google directions, the podcasts will fade away a few seconds before the directions pipes up. Then another few seconds is spent ramping the podcast volume back up. Unfortunately, during the ramping down and ramping up of the podcast audio, you can't hear it well. Consequently, you miss that part of the recording. It's aggravating. But it may not be a Chevy thing but an Android thing. But this is the first car where I've had a problem with it.

I have a 2023 LT rental. Its a very decent little car with a surprising amount of room inside. I find the 1.5T and CVT very competent with better than expected off the line and mid range power and gas mileage is very good at 30 overall combined so far. The seats are comfortable and the price is not bad for what you get. My only gripes are some cheap feeling interior plastics with rough edges like on the upper portion of the doors where I rest my arm and a little on the dash. I also wish Chevy would make the leather steering wheel std on the LT or at least offer it as an option. Its std on the cheaper RS why not the costlier LT?

I currently have American Racing long headers, cat and 4 inch straight pipe back on 6.4 Hemi.. Absolutely love it! The truck screams! However the "Public" seams not to agree.. I've gotten two 1 Star reviews on my company page due to Karen's complaints.. It screwed up my perfect 5 star rating so I guess it's time for a muffler.. 😂

One more thing. the 'auto stop / start" only engages when you stomp on the brake pedal like an animal. If you just press it normally, the engine doesn't stop. You can of course disaable it, but you soon get "the touch" and it becomes second nature. Remember, don't mash the pedal into the floorboard and the engine stays running. It also won't engage in stop and go traffic. The design algorithm is so good that it determines you're creeping in traffic.

rented an LT recently.We must have rented different cars. My LT was plush, refined, and luxuriously appointed inside. Full leather. It handled like a Euro sports sedan and accelerated with authority. The cvt worked great and felt superb. THis car impressed me so much, I'm selling my Genesis to get a Malibu.

I have been driving something similar for a few months now,and they don’t perform like you describing it,that engine feels weak,and gas pump stutters after a few hours idle driving it. It currently has 28,000 miles so mostly it’s gonna junk out at a 100

Or better yet don’t buy a used dodge charger and you won’t have that issue. Buy one used and face the consequences. I bought one used at 80k miles and at 112,000 miles I’m regretting that decision. These cars will tear your life and finances apart if you’re not ready for it.

We are shopping for a new car. My wife loves the Malibu. We just made the last payment on our used 2016 Cruise. We overheated on Monday halfway to our vacation destination. We had to stay at a Days hotel and the car was $ 1,258. to repair. I read up on the Cruse and overheating seems to be a big problem with them. I’ve had Impala’s since 1967. Love Chevy to death. Had two Pontiac’s also but still G.M. I rode my 1999 Tracker to 139.000 then gave it away. The engine was still great. My 2003 Impala was the best ever. That big3.8 six just preformed wonderfully until I retired. 111.000 was the odometer when I parked her. It sat for three years and had to give it away. That car was absolutely perfect and didn’t deserve a death like I gave her. My gf bought the Cruse and my baby just sat……😢hopefully some kid grabbed her?? That engine has gone to 300.000 on some cars. Best engine Chevy ever built! Chevy Rocks!

This is a very easy fix and dont put in an OEM carrier Bearing. Get a JXB cost 300$ lift your car, Lower the exhaust remove the heat shield, Cut out the old carrier bracket. Install a new 2 Piece bracket, install heat shield. Install exhaust and your good to go. Or option 2. Buy an Aftermarket Drive shaft. One piece lightweight, aluminum or carbon fiber. Same instructions basically except remove the drive shaft entirely and install the new one. This is all basic mechanical stuff and there are hundreds of videos on yt that give extremely detailed instructions on the entire project.

This is currently the only American FWD sedan still in production and it’s planned to end production this November. Compare that to the 1980s when many such vehicles entered production and they continued until the late 2010s when the options were reduced to only this model. Sadly, this may be everyone’s last chance to get such a vehicle brand new. Because many foreign brands offer a large selection of cheap sedans and many Americans prefer SUVs over sedans, the odds of any American brand ever investing in a new sedan ever again are slim to none, except for the 4-door sedan variant of the Ford Mustang which Ford has officially considered but that’ll almost certainly be RWD-only. So this is it, everyone’s last chance to get a brand new American FWD sedan before the window is closed forever, thus marking the end of an era.

@@BrannAutoMedia When there’s excessively limited options for a type of car, it’s way too easy to pay extra attention in detail like this and explain them to car enthusiasts.
@anonymous37385 ай бұрын
@@BrannAutoMedia BTW, this only includes ICE-powered models. Not only that, only vehicles with a proper sedan body are counted. So, for example, while the upcoming Dodge Charger will be ICE-powered and not just electric, it will be a liftback with a tailgate unlike its predecessor so it won’t be a true sedan anymore. After the Malibu is discontinued, the only American ICE-powered true sedans in production will be the Cadillac CT4 and CT5.
@anonymous37385 ай бұрын
@@BrannAutoMedia I almost forgot, there are several American sedans that are sold only in foreign markets, such as the Ford Mondeo, Lincoln Zephyr, Buick Regal etc. and all of those particular models are FWD. But obviously, they don’t count because they’re not available to buy here.
