literally every vehicle is great in its own way. Warthog can absolutely shred once you get good with his flame cannon, the damage is pretty devastating when you land a full burst on an enemy, which admittedly isn't easy to do. Junkyard dogs ability is as you said kind of boring and repetetive, but considering the gas can is one of the strongest weapons when you get good with it, id say he's still pretty strong. Id probably put darkside and brimstone towards the bottom personally, the two im least likely to play as, but they are still really cool and interesting designs

Prison Passage has to be an S tier, even if its a little frustrating, it feels like the most fully realized map to me in a lot of ways. I honestly don't think any level in the game is lower than B tier, and most of them id put it in A. The tiny levels (drive in and snowy road) are definitely challenging and fun, if you want a close quarters brawl they are the go to, but overall id rank them lower than the more open levels, part of the fun of the game for me is the large levels and explorations, as well as the chases and escapes. in the small levels you never really get a chance to breathe, which is both good and bad i suppose. It seems to me like the different map sizes also serve to challenge different vehicle weight classes, as the larger maps tend to favor the lightly armored fast vehicles vs the small maps which tend to favor the slow juggernauts like sweet tooth and darkside

TM3's physics are great... for a driving game IMO. It's not optimal for a vehicular combat game, and for having intense battles. I played 3 when it came out as a kid, and I didn't see it as a downgrade from 2 back then, and I think I even preferred it. I still don't fully see 3 as a downgrade, but I do slightly prefer 2 as an adult. You're good though dude, you've got good opinions, don't ever get so attached to a game or hate a game so much that you get mad. They're games, it isn't that serious. 😂

I also played most of these TM games, and I also have a fair share of goods and bads. now, I played TM 2 to TM Head on PS2 version. story wise: TM1, TM2, TM black have good lore and world building. TM head on has a better narrative than TM 3 and TM 4 that some people say it should have been the official TM 3. TM 3 and TM 4 are just plain silly. TM small brawl, I prefer the storytelling of this game than TM 3 and TM 4. gameplay: TM 1, i didn't dare try, it is not appealing to me. yes as simple as that. I only learned the story through the wiki and watching vids here on YT. TM 2, I dislike the AI. everyone's spamming freeze and their specials like there is no tomorrow. I don't totally dislike the physics, it's just more on like it's not what I prefer. TM 3, I get the too much rolling over and wobbly feels. but I find myself being able to control the vehicles here than TM 2. The AI is fair and they fight each other. Yes, they also do get the Health, but at least they won't freeze you to death. TM 4, a slight improvement of controls vs TM 3. I like the added variety of weapons. I just dont like some level designs. If I haven't learned the lightning trick in minion's maze, I will probably never touch that game again. lols. TM black, it's like toned down TM 2 when it comes to its AI. I never noticed if they fight each other but I really felt that everyone's after me. It just really takes a lot of time to finish because there's a lot of enemies. No issues with the physics. TM small brawl, it's unique. it's fun. The AI is somewhat similar with TM black. it's just the graphics that's kinda off for me. I have no issues with the physics. TM Head on PS2, seeing TM 2 cars in much updated graphics, optimizing Grasshopper, Twister, and Hammerhead specials are what really impressed me. Although, I find this game very easy because I can clear the hardest difficulty no problem. I only get the jump upgrade because the initial jump does not feel like very TM to me. bottomline, I have likes and dislikes on all these games I mentioned, but I still play and have a good time with all of them. I just can't see the reason why people be hating on others when their opinions don't meet the same grounds. just keep on doing what you're doing nick. I always lurk on your streams and enjoy your content.

I share your opinion that there's no truly bad twisted metal. My fav one is just another number. Even that, I still watch and love your content. For me this is just for fun and you do a great job on that. That said, I think this video is a good idea, just to let things clear. Some people take things too seriously

I got into the series through tm3 as a kid. I've actually gotten into multiple series through the games that weren't as well liked. The soundtrack alone still sticks in my mind as an adult. As I played the other games as I got older, I appreciated that in tm3, the computer opponents actually treated this free-for-all tournament as a free-for-all and didn't just gun for you. I loved that chaos and it still holds a special place for me

100% agree with you, Nick! Most of Tm3 hate is not being good at controlling the physics for sure. Like you said, it's something you have to learn and master. Just like driving a real car. I don’t Understand the Hate for TM3 and TM4. BOTH ARE MY ALL TIME FAVORITES 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Twisted Metal 3 Was My First Game in this Series. And I Love this Game so Much. The Gameplay is Perfect a really Battle Royal, AI is battling against another AI,s and not only against The Player. When I see TM2 the AI is really annoying even how the Vehicles 🚗 are controls like they are on Ice Skates ⛸️. I really Enjoy also Twisted Metal Black. But also Missing that the AI is Fighting each other and not only targeting the Player. That’s Why I enjoy Twisted Metal 3 More than Other Games in the Series. But Loving 🥰 all Games from Twisted Metal.

I'm glad people still play TM today regardless of which. My favorite Twisted Metals are TM2 and Head-on. They are games I enjoy playing the most out of any revisit. 3 and 4 I am indifferent to, except playing as Sweet Tooth and broken Special Spam.

TM1 and 2 have shit physics for sure, but they're just different and for a lot of people the control of TM2 felt better even though it isn't, and I think that's basically because you don't flip over in 1 and 2. 3 would have been great if the cars were maybe less floaty. On Egypt especially it feels like the game is just trolling you.

I always thought TM3&4 were way easier than 1 or 2. Still very fun, though. Not gonna lie, I like them all outside of small brawl, but I think that was more of a timing issue as opposed to the game being bad. I was already onto the next generation and was a teen at the time so it wasn't exactly made with me in mind.

I love and play all the TMs, TM3 was my first game in the franchise and it has the best Darkside design for me (which is my favorite car), so I have a special affection, but they all have positive and negative points, I believe the fans can enjoy playing all the TMs, even if they have one favorite.

I like a vehicular combat game called “Blood Drive”. Other people tell me it sucks but I think it’s really fun.

I don't agree with hating on TM2 being the new cool thing to do in the modern TM community. Know what I do about it? I deal with it and let the creators think what they want to think. If anything, I really appreciate how the culture has shifted even if it's not in a direction I completely agree with- and while TM3 and 4 do have their flaws and issues (I don't think anybody, even fans of these games can deny that, and I'm saying this as someone who can appreciate 3 and 4), with channels like Kong platforming just how strained the development process was, it really does give you a new perspective on how these guys were really trying hard to put out the best game they could on a tight schedule when they had to rebuild the entire engine from scratch. It's fine to not like the 989 games. But why do we have to hang on to this hatemob mentality? You may not like the direction or decisions the game took but the 989 devs were really just guys doing the best they could with the cards they were dealt instead of the war criminals they're being framed as, and I don't understand what hanging on to the hatred is accomplishing for you for what is ultimately a victimless crime. Let's move on, people, it's not the 2000s on TMAlliance anymore. I'm not saying we all need to like the 989 studios era but the vitriolic hatred that these games were treated with really doesn't need to exist in our community anymore. It's not helpful to anyone.

If it wasn’t for the Twisted Metal series, I would have never discovered Vigilante 8. I love both Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8. TM1 and 2 are very unforgivingly hard while as TM3 and 4 are much easier. TM4 and TM Black is my favorite in the series and I think those are the best for me. Ppl shouldn’t take things seriously and agree to disagree on opinions respectfully. At the end of the day, it’s about having fun with these golden classic games

Tm3 was my first twisted metal and if you put the difficulty on lunacy that game is HARD! So yes definitely a skill issue. As for the cars flipping over - that is realistic in the case that if you try to take a hard turn at 90 you will flip

This is what happens when a fanbase gets fake fans trying so hard to be fans by forming their opinions from a figurehead and being so mindlessly loyal to that. Jaffe showed favoritism towards TM2 and disgust towards TM3 and 4 so these people now think that it's objective fact that 2 is perfect and 3 & 4 are garbage. It's absurd to act like TM2 isn't a broken mess of a game what with the collision, physics, and map design it had. It's absurd to scrutinize TM3 and 4 when it really did mellow out the series by making things less frustrating and adding things to it to improve/expand play. (TM4 was the peak entry in the series in terms of content between all the unlocks (legacy character) bosses, the extra geometric levels, and create a vehicle.) Maybe I'm just a contrarian, but popular opinion doesn't translate to objective fact and that seems to be the biggest issue within the TM community. TM2 and Black will be deemed the holy grail games when they both have their flaws too while really enjoyable entries like (to me) TM4, Small Brawl, and Head-On were get overlooked, discredited, or both.
