Yesterday my dog needed an emergency hystorecromy, and I had to sit at the animal hospital waiting room for 8 ish hours. In that time I heard a lot of "your pet is out of surgery, and it went really well." "Thank god she made it." And it made me think of this joke. My doctor came in to tell me my baby pulled it through and considering how bad the uteran infection was, it was fully contained within the uterus, and she didn't need any further surgical intervention. She was visibly shocked when I thanked HER rather than god.
