Boat mechanic here for over 15 years. Surprised the insurance will cover your loss since the freezing damage would be considered "negligent maintenance". So whatever you had to pay out of pocket is strictly on you because you failed to winterize your boat or at least put a boat heater on board. Does not matter what insurance you have. If you run into the same issue you had previously. An adjuster will come out and deem what happened and would tell you it was negligence. State farm does not send out adjusters anymore. But progressive does.

this city / Country is so overhyped, there is nothing more tha cement every were and mostly ugly buildings. It´s OK to go once spend some hours and that's it, you don´t need and want to go ever again. Nearby are so nice places at the Cote d azur

Hey Chris ! I live in Nice and work in Monaco for 3 years now , and i can confirm its a wonderful city. As you stated train is very crowded, but its like this or worse every day ;) you can take a bus also in "Nice - le port" but it's very long due to the nightmare it is to drive there. Also some people go in the nearby cities outside of Monaco like Beausoleil (yes this town is litteraly named "good sun" and its kinda hilarous) to see the race. Glad you enjoyed the cookie where i go frequently to have coffee ^^

Nice to Monaco is wayyyy longer than 10 mins. Its more like 35-40. Longer during the Grand Prix. Sometimes the trains are so full you have to wait til the next one.

Chris i dont know how much you actually follow f1 but id say this years monaco gp was one of the most boring ones. i dont think there was a single overtake the entire race everyone just managed tires due to that lap 1 red flag. everyone swapped compounds to meet the running 2 rule then just went welp hope they last 73 laps

So cool! I have a Monaco F1 story, in 1983 I hitchhiked from Paris to Marseille catching all the towns along the coast including the Cannes film festival. I caught cat naps on the beaches between the police patrols moving every one along the beach every 20 to 40 minutes, finally got wise and thought if all the cops are on the beach all night who's at the police station? so I slept in the side corridors of the police station. If I got caught the cops would have a laugh and turf me out. The night before the race an Aussie photographer asked if I would take alternate cat naps at an all night coffee shop with his aluminum Hasselblad camera case wedged under our table, he paid for our coffees all night. The morning of the race I was up on the road above the hillside waiting to dodge the police patrols keeping people off the hill, finally dodged the patrols and found a thick bush I could hide under. The cops beat the bushes removing avid fans without tickets, they missed me and the noise from the cars vibrated right through me, I was farther along the hill, I had a great view, the pink building to your right was not built yet as this was the 1983 GP and the cars were V6's. I walked the track before the race and after the race collecting some marbles I still have somewhere. The Grand Casino's minimum bet was 10 French franks which was all I had in my pocket, ended up not betting, instead I bought three pints. It took me five days to get back to my apartment in Zurich, and my school books, most of my study was done at the 'Oliver Twist' affectionally known as the Liver twist or just the Twist. Love the Channel Chris.

I flew to the Texas one for my first F1 experience. Safe to say I will never go again, and I don't want to. I am glad I went and got it out of my system. But you can barely see what's going on, and everyone is using their phones, so you can't use yours to even keep up with stats. Made me realize how incredible their video recording system is for the TV. It is 100x better with friends in a comfortable living room with all the food you want, vs spending at least 1k on just tickets and food.

Agreed 2020 was my last experience. Don't get me wrong glad drive to survive was able to bring more fans to the sport, but sad that its much more expensive to go now. Before, tickets to the Austin GP were about 150 for the weekend pass, food drinks were reasonably priced, stay in downtown Austin for 60-100 bucks a night, go to the race during the day and party in downtown Austin at night. good times

Chris it's not a big surprise that he won the race, not only is he adamn good driver but most of all he actually had HOME advantage in the race. If anyone should win it the driver with home advantage as he knows the streets way better than anyother driver 🤔🫣🤯 P.s next time you could save even more money by sailing your 30 plus year old boat to the race or go in the newly built one with the hottub 😅😊

I’m French, used to use public transportation A LOT. Now I’ve been living in the US for 10 years. Believe me, I use to think the same thing as you. Now I realize that considering the insane flux in such a small space, the French transportation system is absolutely outstanding (if you’re lucky enough that there’s not a strike lol) and cheap! The problem is in the French mentality : nothing is ever good enough, it’s either 100% accuracy or “c’est de la merde” 😂 hello to you all my fellow French folks BTW !!

I travelled once to Montreal for F1. It was so shocking that people acted as if I was unreasonable expecting to see the race track after paying for a ticket. Needless so say, never again. F1 is cool, but the live experience is awful unless you pay through the nose.

Still seems like a fair bit of cash for two days of jet-lagged viewing of a sliver of road, but I guess if you're a true Formula One fan it might be worth it. I was in Monaco as a teenager in the 1960's with friends and we ventured into the Monaco casino just to have a look but we turned around in the entrance when we were told it cost $50 or so (a lot of money back then) just to enter the casino. That beach in Nice looked a little rocky to me.

Hey, rambling Italian here. Just for clarification, the TV was in Italian. I’m actually really perplexed on why it’s in Italian, should really have been in French since it’s the official language. If anyone knows why hit me up. Still pretty awful not understanding what they’re saying, at least you hear the engines, not too shabby!

The transmission in the race was in Italian and I had the same question as you. Since French is the official language. But Monaco is very close to Italy and it was a Principality of the Kingdom of Italy way back when so may be that ? Also Leclerc was always racing under the wing and now races for Ferrari (an Italian team) and as a side note almost everyone in the grandstand I was spoke Italian. It was my dream and I was able to take my Dad with me, what a wonderful weekend.

It's important to note that Monaco, while not technically a French territory, has a diverse population. In fact, there are almost as many Italian residents as there are French, English, and Monégasque citizens. You'll also find a significant number of Belgians and Germans living there. During the Grand Prix, this diversity is reflected in the viewing spots where the big screens often display content in Italian, French, English, or German. It's similar to Montreal, where broadcasts can switch between English and French. So, it's not unusual to see the screens in Italian in Monaco, given the significant Italian community and the international nature of the event. Everyone has their spot!
