In a game that included home runs by HOFers Aaron, Bench, Clemente, Frank Robinson and Killebrew, it was Reggie’s mammoth blast that was the talk of the game. While his time in NY cemented his legend, it was this HR that brought him to the attention of the public.

Wow, I'd never heard this version. Glad KZbin suggested it after my vid (I did a remix of the original version ten years ago). This version is great. That opening kicks!

for those of you who use the argument "yeah but he was strikeout king" let me just tell you that 19 of the 25 all time leaders in career strikeouts are in the HOF.............

Reporter: Reggie, I tell ya', that was quite a shot, that was quite a shot. Reggie Jackson: Thank you. Wait until you see what I've got for you the next three seasons. And you're not even going to believe the show you'll see in October of 1977. 😀

The wind that night was 35mph blowing out to right field. That will give a fly ball some distance.

That ball was “CRUSHED”! No doubt when it left the bat. If it wasn’t for the light tower the ball would have kept going. He had a great career, but especially with the Yankees. Ask the Dodgers… Mr. October!

To bad money took over the game , so gems like Tiger Stadium no longer exist and players jump from one team to the other with zero loyalty. I can probably still name 20 out of the 25 68 Tigers but don't know 3 from the current team

Big deal ! Reggie stands there looking at the ball , showing up the pitcher and thinks he is Babe Ruth or something . Reggie helped pave the way for arrogant ballplayers like Dave Winfield , Ricky Henderson and Roger Clemons .

Every aspect of this is awesome. Where are the 231,978 constant stats that are usually on the screen and that fucking insulting, video game, strike zone overlay that is on the live broadcast? Disgrace.

Luis Aparicio was near the end of his stellar career in 71. I was surprised to hear his name.. He was short stop for my beloved 59 White Sox. He and Nellie Fox were a premier double play duo. He's still alive (2024) and 90 years old.

In '84, on TV, I saw Reggie hit one out of Tiger Stadium off Juan Berenguer. I don't know the distance but it cleared the roof. It seems like just a few weeks later the Tigers were again on national TV. Al Bumbry of the Orioles hit a line drive off Berenguer's head. A rough month for the pitcher but the Tigers ended up winning the World Series that year.

Ohtani didn't bet on baseball. With the possible exception of an old time mobster who would be willing to go to jail for more than thirty years and owe millions of dollars to protect a so-called friend? Ippei had a gambling problem and Ohtani was the victim.
