I love how easily you can hear the raw, raunchy guitar line from Lowell George on this version.

Superior in every way to the original, and the original was an absolutely banging tune.

Wow, I'd never heard this version. Glad KZbin suggested it after my vid (I did a remix of the original version ten years ago). This version is great. That opening kicks!

Palmer knocked it out of the ballpark with this version.

Out the ballpark, across the parking lot, over the highway, past the interchange and outta sight ...

@@theupserter, I'm sorry, but I disagree (although I _might_ change my mind if I hear it.)

Wish this had been the actual 1974 album cut instead. Got more soul than the original album version.

According to the liner notes (written by Robert Palmer himself), this remix essentially removed all the overdubs and pared the whole thing back to an edit of the live take. Palmer essentially agrees with you; he says "I definitely feel here that less is more but back then in 1974 I didn't have the know-how or the technology". The compilation album this comes from is definitely a bit unique - while mostly made up of familiar tunes, a lot of them are either remixed, re-voiced or remade with the benefit of what the guy learned in the intervening years. So much more than your usual "Greatest Hits"...

Just stumbled on this. Quality track. Bought the album on the strength of this track alone.
