Just rewatching this it hit me the motion rig setup can actually be used for fully lit, in-context characters or similar in a miniature set! You could have a monster chase or really anything!

That foam is quite toxic. If you are going to work with it, do so outside and with a respirator. It's a great video with some solid model making and painting.

Great job what Brand of Paint was used

Thanks!....paints used were mainly Transparent black by Com-Art, Vallejo Mud Brown, Vallejo White. Dry brush with graphite powder. See video description for further details.

The gun isn’t a redesign. It’s a different gun altogether. Aliens has the M41A pulse rifle, Romulus has the F44AA pulse rifle.

The look of the gun, the sound of the gun and the name of the gun suggests it is not a totally different gun. Let's call it a devolution.

We used the same method they did in the original for Tommy's voice, albeit the digital version. It's called a 'Flanger'. You'll find it in most audio suites 👍

I live these effects 👍 I want to share an idea I had with you. For the film I'm currently preparing, I needed a lot of the same CRT monitors in the background. And since the budget doesn't allow me to buy them all and I don't want to use digital effects, I photographed a screen and had it printed. Then I simply stuck the pictures next to each other on e board with some led lights and the control room was done. Since film is 2D, this looks incredibly real. 🙂

I still can’t wait to see how you did the fake CRT monitors. I designed a a CRT computer prop that would only play video playback. With Raspberry Pi with a 3D printed all-in-one monitor with fake inputs and keyboard and a LCD screen with a CRT filter. The con though, was getting domed “bubble” epoxy screen to put in front of the LCD screen. But I think that would be expensive. I already know that you did it better.
