Thank you so much for the years of hard work. I love tangents. I'm so sad to see it go. But nothing is forever. So. All that's left to say is thank you

I had to pause this when I found out about the soon to end plan for the show. I regret this ending. I also enjoyed the previous game show hosted by Michael Aranda… this feels sad to me because there are too few intelligent, interesting and fun game shows in the USA

I was just listening to the podcast, wanted to pop by and say it's too bad the show is going to end, it was fun. Also, Jo was hilarious, really liked her as a guest.

Fire ants should be level two based solely on the pain of crushing your hand in a door. Their bites burn for a little bit after, which also kind of happens after smashing your fingers done

Sci-Show Tangents is something I'm sure going to miss. Also it shocks me that folks would know about the dead salmon FMRI but not the gelatin FMRI that also happened.

The German word for the olm is Grottenolm (literally grotto/cave olm) and you can really say it with gusto, which makes it my partner and I‘s favorite insult for each other when we‘re lazy and won’t move on a weekend morning

I watched this video on launch but am coming back a few days later to compare the view count to a regular scishow video. The video about Tsunamis that's just 6 mins long has 17x more views. Not shade, I do wish more people see what I see. I love this show but totally understand that the amount of effort yall are putting in is not sustainable. I hope we still get to see Sam and Ceri on screen with Scishow or some capacity in the future. The way the communicate science with such charm and fascination. The wild thoughts and speculations from both at times has me laugh crying. Please let us know the best ways to follow them here on youtube going forward. I wont be following anyone to X, Facebook or Tiktok in light of recent events.

Is it the number of views, number of patrons or just that you don’t have the time/capacity to do the podcast anymore? Cause the first two we can fix, the latter one not so much 🙈

What a game is is relative based on the players ability to make choices. Relative to the people in this show, tik tak toe is not a game because the main choice you'll be making is to maintain tempo or lose tempo. There are no playful paths to victory. To my mind, most casino games aren't games, they are dangerous skinner traps

As sad as I am that SciShow Tangents is ending, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all y'all have done with it! It's been my favorite podcast to listen to in the background and tell my friends and family weird science facts from later. Last summer I had to go to the hospital for pneumonia, which was very stressful, and I remember that the episode about clones had just released that day, so I listened to it on the way to the emergency room, and it definitely cheered me up. Thank you all so much!

I think Jo might be my favorite guest ever. Also, I think this is the first time all the players actually understood how The Gauntlet works! Not sure how much was Sari leading the game especially well, and how much was Jo being a closet genius.

This has been a comfort show for me for years. I don't know how many, but I started off watching when there were four hosts and the points were sometimes SamBucks and something else some other time depending on who won the season I think . Change is hard and it's sad when you lose something constant in your life when life itself is changing so much even if it's a digital podcast. This show has kept my curiosity alive even through the toughest of times when nothing seems interesting anymore and I deeply appreciate that. You guys have been the perfect hosts for such a project and I hope whatever you decide to do next is not only successful but fulfilling and most importantly fun for you just like this show has been fun for me to put on while playing games, cleaning my room or in the shower. Love you all and thanks for such a wonderful experience.

I haven't replayed Skyrim (very much) but I can definitely see the appeal. Building on Ceri's point, I tend to play Final Fantasy 14 repeatedly for the skill-building aspect, each time I fight a particular boss I'm practicing the strategy needed to defeat them, and each time getting a bit better at it. But I might also replay a story-heavy game like Undertale for the same reason I might rewatch a TV show, to experience the story again even though nothing is going to change. And other games, like Civilisation 6, I might replay because they're a good intersection of comfort and novelty: even when I set up a game with the same starting conditions (number of civilisations, difficulty level, etc) the seed that generates the map is different and that might lead me to make different choices each time, so even though the overall game is more or less the same and that's comforting, but the way it progresses over time is different enough that no two playthroughs are the same and that keeps it fresh and interesting.

I just discovered SciShow Tangents a few weeks ago and have been watching through a few old episodes every day. It's an enormous bummer to hear that the show is coming to an end right after finding it. There's nothing else on KZbin quite as fun, friendly, and fascinating. Feels like saying goodbye to a good friend I only recently met.

It was sad to hear last year that Journey to the Microcosmos was "winding down" and now Tangents, but I understand that you're all very busy and in Complexly you have to balance all your projects taking into account which ones are financially successful enough to make the most impact. Thank you so much for these years of fun facts, ridiculous game rules (I'm looking at you, Gauntlet!) and of course butt facts.
