Thanks again, Wes. I have to say that by far, the most simplest box joint jig I've seen. The explanation of the design was so good, too. I am going to get this done as soon as possible. Victor here in South Africa 🇿🇦

Coincidentally, Stumpy Nubs just made a similar jig for the router. They had a good idea not mentioned here. You can do both parts of the finger joint at once, with better precision, by stacking the two parts on each other, offset by one finger joint width. Then just proceed down the board as Wes has done, but doing both halves simultaneously, offset by a finger width. Comes out perfectly on their video. Can’t say I have done it myself.

How do you clean this birdhouse out?
@RIcklacantina3 күн бұрын
Hihihi, forgot that my saw blade is almost 2mm so per board I had a mistake of 4mm (2cuts) and could start over and ended up with a smaller planter box

Hi there! Thanks for the great video. I have the husky gravity fed gun but I’m a little confused about the correct hose size to get. Do you use a 1/4 air hose and connect that directly to the compressor?

4. a smooth interior on the hole board so the bird can't climb out.
@billcumming10913 күн бұрын
7 mistakes when building bird houses 1 a large hole for predators, 2. a perch for the same. 3. a hole that is to low.

We have hurricanes with power outages that last weeks. The humidity buckles the wood floors, makes the doors stick, and worst of all, causes the (even sealed) wood furniture to expand beyond what L brackets or figure 8 top attachments will allow. For me, this is brilliant. Powers out for more than two days, I’ll go under and loosen screws. May not save the finish but it’ll save the wood.

As a new saw owner I clinch up whenever Wes’s fingers pass directly over the blade
@hootowl63544 күн бұрын
Some people call that finish 'dog hair'. Obviously, it only works with highly grained wood.

So, I finally fell into peer pressure and go'ogled Woody Hyezmar’s Bible. Yes, you can get his projects at no cost, although admittedly they're not up there with the best, there are a few golden nuggets you can have fun with.

Wondering how you attached the toe kick
@WoodworkingWithWes4 күн бұрын
The toe kick was constructed with a mounting cleat and screwed to the bottom of the nightstand. Thanks for watching, Wes

@@WoodworkingWithWes I’m still not sure how this was done, is there another video that shows this? Thanks
@augustwest85596 күн бұрын
That’s a just wrong the top will expand and contract across its width. Screwing it to the frame is bad construction. Not just Alder all woods need this consideration. The color looks awful . Alder doesn’t stain well. But Looks great natural.

by the way - you said in the video 2 parts to 1. Is it two parts accelerator or two parts 'White'? Thanks in advance!
@jaekrieldgx82457 күн бұрын
WOW - this is so amazing. I build guitars - and I'm always looking for new ways to design and finish them. The 'new thing' now is for guitars to be sandblasted - to get the ' ceruse finish' - and to achieve this - obviously I had to buy a sandblaster and all the associated accessories. I'm SOO glad I found this video. Now it appears I can achieve essentially the same result - MUCH more easily. Thank you so much for uploading this. Fantastic technique - can't wait to try it myself. You have a new subscriber! Thanks so much. Cheers.

Question: Could you plane each individual board 1 at a time, and then glue them all up together at once? Would that give a satisfactory result? Great project! Thanks!
@WoodworkingWithWes4 күн бұрын
Hi...yes, the boards can be planned individually, you would just have more seams to sand. Thanks for watching, Wes
