One of the things I've liked about watching the videos before were how concise and to the point they were with a single narrator. I can appreciate how the players are pertty tight with their dialogue, but I don't feel as into it as I was before. Having the single narrator go through the game actions gave the video a more professional quality to it, like a sports commentator talking about a game in progress. In that way, the single narrator made watching the game easier to track than this direction. The VO audio was better too than using the player mics for these game action explanations. The only reason I'd want to hear the players themselves is if I was interested in their show personalities. Which honestly I'm not and they don't have much opportunity do so anyway since they're keeping things fairly tight. This series stood out to me for it's brevity, comprehensiveness, and quality VO and this video feels like a step back in both of those areas.

I ended the game in a draw one time by having Maurading Raptor on field and being Chaos Warped into a Polyraptor from one of my other permanents. So we were all in a loop of Polyraptor or one of its copies entering the battlefield and Marauding Raptor dealing damage to each one as they come in causing a new copy to come in. Basically we had to scoop up the game because Marauding Raptor was throwing a neverending temper tantrum after one of his friends was asked to step out for a second.

Ashaya and Mythweaver Poq comes up surprisingly often in brawl. Ashaya makes all nontoken creatures lands and Poq says "whenever a land enters under your control conjure a duplicate onto the battlefield" so poq triggers himself on etb making a copy that is also a land as it enters because poq conjures cards not tokens. no matter which version of Poq you choose to lose to the legend rule the other one will still have a trigger to resolve after, ending the game in a draw because you are forced to continue looping Poqs indefinitely. even after you time out arena will force you into looping because it is not a may and every ability must resolve before it can pass phases automatically

Omo precon, March from Velos Vel turning all my Locus lands into scute swarms, then playing a land. I didn’t realize it went infinite until about three actions after, and said “Shit, I just 404d the game, didn’t I” to the guy next to me.

If you think about it, if players are Planeswalkers you basically locked your enemy in loop of being destroyed and reconstituted. Sounds worse than death

I definitely prefer the voice over, but I’m watching either way. I’d like to see a couple more videos of table talk and not make commitments after a sample size of 1

basically the emblem for tamiyo is an enter the infinite stratagy once you get half of your library its hard to deal with... show and tell omniscience... cast everything and win. only dowbside is in its colors you cant play master the way to just won the game... but you could make infinite mana and make everyone deck out with a x spell

Rules lawyer of the day: Around 10:12, Chad uses Dryad Arbor to pay for Mystic Remora, but Nick has a Linvala, which blocks all creature abilities including mana abilities. Quite ironic that the card he got with a fetch land is unable to be used as a land at all in that situation.

This is enjoyable, I like it. You guys did a good job of communicating clearly. That said, the narration is iconic and I would certainly like to see them as a main feature. Perhaps this could be an occasional thing?

what should be prioritized? Getting Gemstone caverns or a chrome mox? They work similar but I assume it's still Chrome Mox? Since Gemstone Caverns will most of the games only be tapping for 1 colorless mana
@PlayingWithPowerMTGКүн бұрын
Chrome mox is more versatile. It's good at pretty much all stages of the game vs Gemstone is at it's best in your opener only. Let me be clear, you should get both. Chrome Mox would be my higher priority though.

@@PlayingWithPowerMTG my priority list is: 1. mana crypt, 2. chrome mox, 3. ??? I'm playing Nymris. Gemstone Caverns still number 3 or is there anything else I should be getting in this color?

5:17 Misplay. Attack first for a clue. They are useful with ToL tutors and to be sacrificed to some cards. They also help achieve metalcraft for Mox Opal.

The Cicada should have gotten +10/+10 off Ulalek’s cast. Ulalek’s MV is always 10, despite only 5 mana being spent to cast it. Hybrid symbols are NOT modular and DO NOT change based on what you choose to spend. Rather, they are always represented as {2} or the color, allowing you to choose the way you paid for it. For the same reason Phyrexian mana also always counts toward the MV even if you paid 2 life instead. This differs from {X} because the value of X actually changes.
@PlayingWithPowerMTGКүн бұрын
Ulalek is not the same as something like Reaper King. The hybrid symbol is either 1 colorless or 1 specific color. Cards like Reaper King have a hybrid of 2 generic or one color. The Mana Value of Ulalek is 5.

If you keep the audio of you playing, then the background music must be quieter. Myself and people like me with hearing problems will struggle to hear the mumbling quiet voices over the music. This one was almost unwatchable for me. It was a real struggle to hear. I don't mind the narration from each player, but they will all have to agree to speak loud and clear and be heard over the background music.

Most of Ashani's last turn was interacted by blue spells, which they had hexproof from Veil of Summer by the way. I know it didn't change anything because of Ashani's decisive victory but just wanted to make sure it was noted.

So great that you guys are back! Hope everything is ok. Hearing this would not have narration, I was so ready to not like this episode. However I was pleasantly surprised. I still think I enjoy the narration more, as it really helps things to be concise, and give a really clear understanding of what’s happening. Especially when paired with the stack visualization. But I did enjoy the organic aspect. Looking forward to more!
