Agree! His narration is what makes the channel. Some thoughts though for if he were retiring and wanted the rest of the crew to fill in. I think having people narrate themselves only works if it shows more of their personalities and they sound energetic when describing their turns. For this episode I found it detracting from an otherwise very interesting game. Another note is that the new narrator was pretty good, it just felt a little slow. Like I got bored before the game started because describing the decks felt too slow. I can see it working with some more experimenting and trial and error. The video was just missing the speed and tempo that I love from the channel.

Sorta Incorrect. "You and permanents you control gain hexproof from blue and from black until end of turn." Hexproof means you can still target your own stuff. Offer can still hit can't be countered spells but obviously won't get countered. So you just make two treasures. So Carpet would have resolved.

If you keep the audio of you playing, then the background music must be quieter. Myself and people like me with hearing problems will struggle to hear the mumbling quiet voices over the music. This one was almost unwatchable for me. It was a real struggle to hear. I don't mind the narration from each player, but they will all have to agree to speak loud and clear and be heard over the background music.

Glad to see you back, but I have to agree with many other people. Go back to the Mudstar style narration and stack. I am appreciate how much this game already is edited down, but and I mean that as no offense to anyone, most of the cast in today's game don't seem be used to speak for an audience. It is perfectly serviceable to talk like that for a game you play, but with people watching you want to make it sound interesting and engaging and that means faking an enthusiastic sounding voice if you don't naturally have one.

Like many have said, the narration felt like the meat and potatoes of what made playing with power stick out amongst all the other channels. The consistent quality of the audio made listening easy and it raised the standard for how I looked at other channels. The mic. audio didn't work with the 1v1 videos and I think it hurts the commander videos in ways that will be hard to look past. Whether its ryan or alex or anyone, #bringbacknarration

I infinitely prefer the narration style of your videos. I understand the downsides of the style, mostly taking extra editing time, and putting a large portion of post recoding work on one person, but I am more than willing to wait longer times between uploads for the experience. It is also something I just immediately associate with your channel, and helps distinguish it from other similar channels.

17:13 that's an illegal target, since Ashani was under Veil of Summer that turn and technically a copied Chain of Vapor is a blue spell that Nick controls. it ultimately didn't matter since Ashani still won, but it's something to keep note of

Personally, the opening narration about decks/opening hands felt too..Mr Beasty for me. "We brought out FOUR people to PLAY COMMANDER for ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, whoever loses gets their DECK cut in HALF with SCISSORS" yeah that's not the vibe I want from this channel, personally I don't actually mind the talking during the game, there are times where I wonder "what did the player actually say in response to that" I don't think it should be the norm or anything, but I do like it from time to time

Yeah, I definitely prefer the narrated games. The narration keeps the games at a fast and steady flow, while the different talking speeds and mic qualities really disrupt the flow for me. I think voice overs work best in offline games, where the players get together and their interactions are a lot more organic. This is why they work in channels such as The Command Zone and MtG the Stack.

One of the things I've liked about watching the videos before were how concise and to the point they were with a single narrator. I can appreciate how the players are pertty tight with their dialogue, but I don't feel as into it as I was before. Having the single narrator go through the game actions gave the video a more professional quality to it, like a sports commentator talking about a game in progress. In that way, the single narrator made watching the game easier to track than this direction. The VO audio was better too than using the player mics for these game action explanations. The only reason I'd want to hear the players themselves is if I was interested in their show personalities. Which honestly I'm not and they don't have much opportunity do so anyway since they're keeping things fairly tight. This series stood out to me for it's brevity, comprehensiveness, and quality VO and this video feels like a step back in both of those areas.

I very much like the uncut gameplay but the voiceover quick games are a great format. No shots at the players, love and respect them a lot, but to have raw gameplay, some personality and character presence is important to provide some engagement. Gotta have some banter and jokes in there. It also takes up more time and makes it hard to fit multiple games into one video

I vastly prefer the voiceovers, because I tend to listen to your videos in the background as I do chores/work; the level of detail in narration helps me keep track of the gamestate without needing to visibly see the screen. so, yeah the gameplay was good. and great win Ashani. on the live commentray vs narration, im siding on narration. it just makes mic quality consisten, makes it easier to give a propper oversight of whats going on, and it also is one of the things that makes this channel stick out from the rest of the MTG Commander channels. though i do like the energy that live commentary brought into the video, and really likede Zebs energy. i think the live commentary can work, if being worked on, mostly mic quality, but on the other hand, the narration makes this channele stand out among the crowd.
