Alot of people book obstructed view cabins early and research where the lifeboats are. There are quite a few with a decent view. If you book late or agree to an inside upgrade then you have to accept this might happen. Personally, I'd take an inside over this, especially on a winter transatlantic!

A nice review of an obstructed cabin. Great to see the actual "obstruction"! My wife prefers a balcony for the fresh air which this would do fine, if you did not plan on sitting out much say on a cool cruise.

Oh so glad it's helpful! And thank you for commenting! Do let me know how your trip goes and how it compares to this experience! If you don't mind my asking, did you also managed to snag a good deal like I did where it was only a couple of hundred dollars more than regular economy class? I've noticed that if you book in advance, fares for premium select are quite high, but if you booked pretty close in, they plummet pretty precipitously in an attempt to fill the cabin with revenue passengers instead of unpaid upgrades!😅

@@Boiledchickenleg Right now? Definitely not when we were looking to travel back in October - one-way economy class tickets this last-minute (three weeks before traveling) were selling for $1500 each at the cheapest! But also, the we actually enjoy dressing up for dinner and dancing in a ballroom every night (this fair includes all meals, all entertainment and activities, and five-star hotel service).

@travelswiththecontessa5307 as a tub lover and shower hater, bummer. But I suppose I'd shower for a cabin on a Cunard Queen. But I would probably grouch about it while taking a shower.

Thank you for the review. I am going to book the similar flight from BKK - DEL then either JFK or YYZ on First Class. I want the check out the city on the long 15 hrs layover. On my way to BKK from JFK I will be flying with Singapore Airlines on Business Class. I want to compare the difference between those two.

Being in row 7, did you find the bathroom behind you to be noisy? Did it impact your sleep while in flight? That is my only concern with that row.

@travelswiththecontessa530710 күн бұрын
Thanks for that comment! However, that is not my experience at all. I have flown in this cabin four times now; I have no status whatsoever with Korean Air, and I've never had a problem picking these seats even in advance. And two of those times, I was traveling with a partner, who had no problem snagging one of these seats. So I guess one's mileage may vary! 😊
