You've got a Salvini in there, New World cichlid. Kindof a yellow, with a big black horizontal black patch going through it. He looks healthy though. I guess this video is 8 years old though. Everything has probably moved on :)

Your bettas look pretty stressed. It's not just their torn fins. They seem to display none of the languid, curious behaviour of a relaxed betta. They're just zooming around. Hope you read some of these comments and rethink things.

yeah, you need more plants in there and some more females. I keep 9 males and 7 females in an 80 gallon tank along with 20 other fish. However, my tank is super heavily planted with hundreds of places to hide. Each fish needs their own little area to feel safe. I keep a lot of floating plants and all kinds of crevices. I once got too arrogant thinking i could keep countless bettas and added too many too quickly and all hell broke loose as if one betta getting chased away ran into another's territory and like a domino effect they all started being very aggressive.

Everyones just having a slam but all the bettas look fine even the blue and yellow placat wich would be the first to die honnestly i dont see much in the way of ripped or pecked fins and what i do see speaks mostly against thoughs rummy nose tettras as the two ciclid in there look to be maybe some type of ram or other dwarf wich dont tend to go for fins the only nippers i see are the bettas and the tettras wich if it were the bettas it would be much worse than ripped fins plus the absence of females can also mellow them out as theres nothing to fight over and before you all start bashing me for this, i breed bettas mostly placats (koi colours) so yes i know how these fish work

With the right conditions I think it can be done. Even my 2 female bettas fought. Later I made it 6 females and they're perfectly fine.

That looks like a betta nightmare. Confusion over which fish are threats and when they realize it’s a betta male they are right on top of each other, too late to hide , and nowhere to hide no plants, no thick foliage, no females to fight over. Just constant state of attention. Fatigue. The males must be exhausted and I bet you’ve found zero bubble nests.

Ghiboot I'm sure they have fought, more than sure, truly. He is keeping betta fish with paradise fish, cousin species of the same fish family. 4 male bettas wouldn't work in a tank so small with such little cover. I somehow got my 2 males to live peacfully together until one died of columnaris. This was in a 20 gallon tank.

Ghiboot I find that a lot of other fish to distract the bettas helps a lot so they don't just focus on themselves. It's like a big dog park where fights really don't break out. I have 2 males living with a tough female (who doesn't back down from the males) with list of other community fish and it just works.

Not all bettas are the same. Like other pets each of them have different temperaments. You have to find male bettas that are not aggressive and have a very tranquil temperament. You can test this in fish store by putting their containers next to eachother and observing their behavior. You can then put them together amd see how it goes in a larger tank. Also prob at least 10 gal per 2 bettas. Filling the tank w other smaller peacful species absolutely helps as well. It makes it more of a naturally social environment for the bettas. It is important to put the betta species in last as well. Let the other species settle in for at least several days then try w some tranquil bettas. Be sure to keep a close watch after theyre put in. It definitely looks like these bettas went at each or were completely nipped by something though. Or fin rot. They seem to be tranquil in this video though.
