"...the kettlebell is very expensive..." Compared to what? You only need one or two to begin and there are many exercises you can do without going anywhere. No gym fees. No travel expense. No travel time. No standing in line for access to some piece of equipment. If you exercise at home, your kettlebells take up one square foot each. Barbells? Be prepared to pay for benches ($), racks ($), floor protection ($). You lose the use of one room in your house, or half of your garage. Then there is that pile of plates. Often you might need a spotter. Oh, then there's that annoying plate change between every exercise. Lastly, barbells offer a limited array of movements (I counted 5). The motto is, "We don't do kettlebells to get good at kettlebells. We do kettlebells to get good at everything else." I'm 83 years old. I don't/can't run anymore, and I walk very little. I can swing a kettlebell and get a good cardio workout while suffering no joint trauma, and while preserving a certain level of muscle mass. If I fall, I fall straight down onto the carpet. No forward momentum to make me land in a heap with broken bones and abrasions. If I did a dead lift at home with a barbell, where would I do it? A kb dead lift poses no problem. Is there room to stand somewhere? I'll do it there! 😁😆

Is this footwork boxing specific? You're moving your trailing foot first. Even in my limited boxing knowledge (some experience), the first foot movement is the direction you are travelling so you stay in a good solid stance. Feet too close together leads to you being off balance and susceptible to getting dropped.

Thanks for your comment but your analysis would remove jump rope skipping from boxing training. In any sport you don't want to limit your footwork training to just that sport. 15--years experience.
@bradb868
@bradb868 13 күн бұрын
We can disagree. I wouldn't class skipping and this type of footwork as exclusive in terms of what they represent. Hence skipping it feet together more often than not. Totallllly wrong foot positioning and not a footwork positioning drill. Most of this was great but the first sequence was not.
@Coach_jayci

My brother, this is REALLY naive; however, I used to think like that when I started. After several bouts you will discover our of range foot movement and quickly getting out of tight spots is not the same as moving like a Japan robot at the bottom of a flight of stairs.
@bradb868
@bradb868 12 күн бұрын
@@Coach_jayci I would say it's a difference of opinion but not naïve. Facts are your lead foot is based on the direction of movement for footwork drills. If this is fitness, foot speed, anaerobic or explosive focus, all good but why promote bad habits when you haven't done that in the other drills in the same video. It's what I'm seeing but sounds like not what your intention was.

Try it more dynamic by bending your knees when down and using more the upward and your core ( instead mainly your glutes ) to push it up by using more muscle it should take off a lot of stress from your glutes area and get pretty much the same result in calory burn overall... i am pretty shure than it was more a exercice form problem than the kettlebell itself cause kettlebell swing like squat where known to help the stance ✌️and good training to you

Exactly. Teachers have lots of responsibility but no authority. It is for that reason alone that everyone should quit. Let the parents sort it out once they awake to the realization that no one else cares about their kids except for them. If people knew that they had to raise their own kids without free daycare from the public schools then how many of them would’ve gotten their tubes tied or had vasectomies? The fact is kids are low value because they’re unproductive and parasitical. That is why people have so few kids today including of course many who have no interest in child-bearing whatever. And men increasingly have lost interest in women precisely because women tend to get pregnant saddling them with all of that responsibility which they don’t want. And kids are so impossible to deal with in school because as kids no one can force them to work or even behave themselves. So no thanks. I left teaching to become a barber and as a barber I would refuse to wait on kids who wouldn’t sit still for me. Why bother?

It seems to me that you want the viewer to understand your argument based on just your ramblings. Would I be correct in saying that you show a video of another persons swing and that you show 'before and after' photos of another persons pelvic tilt? Where are the 'before and after' photos of YOUR own pelvic tilt or where is the video of YOUR own swing technique? I think this is rather imperitive to support your argument. Like do you want the viewer to trust that your swing is perfect and that you did the exercise correctly because you have a few fancy letters after your name and that you are a coach by occupation? Sorry, but I personally don't buy into that because I've seen too many coaches on utube with god's know what kind of certified credentials and who can't even hold a kettlebell properly in a press. There could be a lot of reasons why you had your problem and bad technique could be just one of them. Its up to you to eliminate that variable from the equation while presenting your argument.

I think it depends if you’re focusing on the up swing vs the back swing. Fighting to hinge more while resisting posterior pelvic tilt will put the glute max in a lengthened position so you get more eccentric loading when you do fire your glutes to bring the kb into the swing. This will build the glute without causing it to ball up and tuck the pelvis which can also be caused my hypertonicity in the hamstrings (also cured by a better hip hinge)

The shape of your ass is your only concern?? You still have your glutes (and they are much stronger for sure) but your pelvis is now in a much stronger position. I am not saying that an extreme posterior pelvic tilt is a good thing but if you have some anterior pelvic tilt you should fix it to avoid back problems in future or to properly activate your quads when squatting. And KB swings might be the best option to do so. I am sorry but your point is nonsense to me.
@andreplacido2861
@andreplacido2861 Жыл бұрын
Interesting because I did the opposite way... My ass has never been as hard and as round as it is now, after 6 years of constant kb swings. In fact, my entire posterior chain has evolved! Too bad you abandoned one of the most amazing exercises out there.
