Problem with The SA is they’ve shut down two day centres in Bristol, where they used to serve the homeless hot food once a week. Gone, no more hot food for the homeless while still taking donations

Many of our community churches run lunch clubs and other activities for people who are lonely or isolated. They will be working with other local agencies to see how they can offer support to people who are lonely and isolated at Christmas. Please try contacting your closest Salvation Army church or community centre as they will be best placed to inform you what activities they are hosting for people in your area this Christmas. I'm not religious and never will be but I always support the Salvation Army who do a great job of helping people who are in a bad place for a variety of reasons. Fortunately Toni finally got the support that she desperately needed.

As a non denominational person myself the reason I have always admired, and give donations to the Salvation Army, is that they are completely non discriminatory. They just help people who really need it. And they are very successful at helping people put their lives back together again. What's not to like!
