Fell in love with Ride on first hearing , tbf also had a moppish haircut n a pout that gave MG a run for his money ... now mid 50's shaggy, bearded, n grizzly ... slightly SoA cliche / achetype (discuss ?) but a die hard shoe-gazer lol ... ethereal, sensous n awesome ... so glad I still have the 12" EP's

When I Googled 'Orange Micro Terror Gain Control Issues,' I found your review. It was part of the new 'AI' information gathering feature. So it deemed your piece as informative. The issue with the Gain/Volume is a lot more serious than some of these commenters are making it out to be, especially since this amp seems to be built for gigging and jamming more than practice.

I agree with your observations. The gain/volume differential is easily smoothed out by turning down the volume to compensate for the gain increase, after a while you get to know how to adjust on the fly. This amp needs to be lived with for a while; eventually you will find an incredible tone for you. In my case it's a P90 neck pickup into a dynacomp, into a BOSS EQ, into the MT with the gain at around 3:00 and the volume wherever it sits well through a 2X12 cab.

he plays it with a capo in the second or third fret!?!?!?!?!?!?!

okay pretty sure he tunes down a whole step capos the second.. makes all the strings easier and you play on smaller frets

Thank you so much for these chords and breakdown for this gorgeous song. I adore the slow ballad version of Vapour Trail by Trespassers William, and these chords are perfect for finger picking accompaniment for their rendition.

I'm currently waiting delivery for one of these - I have no intention but to use this as a one trick pony, set it and forget it type of thing - maybe some doom with a electro harmonix muff - I foresee nothing but fun 😊

I can NOT, for the life of me, wrap my thumb around to actually fret the string with any sort of confidence. I played rock guitar all my life, but lately been playing acoustic almost exclusively, and in this style, to the point I’m writing alot of songs that goes like this. But I can’t even play them myself, because I need to use that thumb. The major7 chords are my favorites among all the chords, and that’s what that F with an open e string is; an Fmaj7. I use them alot, but I can’t play them. So annoying! But! I’ll get there!!!

You can swap the 12ax7 tube with a 12at7 and volume will be much more useable. My 20 w micro dark had the same complaint.

Dude, thanks for this. Watched some play-alongs but needed a bit of help separating Josh’s part from Troy’s. I love the Gary Newman comparison. There’s something vaguely “trampled under foot” ish about the arrangement, too. Maybe Jon Theodore’s drumming. I appreciate the lesson! 🙏
