I'm in my 50's and male. I had a new lady at the grocery store who carded me. When she saw it she said "Oh you are one of those" I still do not understand if that was an insult.

There was one time at a grocery store I went to, that the pineapple bowl rang up as full price about $600, but the sale discount still took it down to 3/$12 lol

If its a texture thing, try berries or grapes if you're trying to find a fruit....maybe even an apple, though if you like peanut butter try the apple with that.

The reason they card people who are obviously over 21 is because in many cases they can't trust the server. I had just such an experience and when I called the corporate office to figure out why they would card a 70 year old man, eventually they told me that they want to eliminate lawsuits if a Alcoholic beverage ends up in the wrong hands of someone under age. The server is certifying that the person who ordered the drink and was served the drink is in fact over 21. Sounds wild doesn't it but this is what it is today.

If possible id actually go for a happy medium between the two. If you want a nice daily look for work or shopping, etc, I think the light looks like you aren't wearing anything and you look a little washed out, but the dark looks too glam/stage. I mean it's STUNNING but maybe too much for more normal occasions in my opinion.

This sounds like such an american problem... People over here in Italy and the EU in general like to sit outside in general. And we live in the heat so we don't really complain. Also I've heard you guys in the US have such high ac inside stores you have to wear a jacket in the summer.
