I have the same thoughts except that I've unlocked 8nm in my base for free. So I've decided to feed Fanatec the last time and purchase a metal QR2, and then to have uncompromising simecube upgrade in future. There isn't really many reasons to change one base model for another base model of other brand. You'll get fooled anyway.

Racing sims aren't really the best for a first VR experience because it's almost guaranteed to make you sick. Don't get me wrong, it IS the best from a coolness standpoint, but you need some pretty good VR legs to not get motion sick. Best way to train your brain is to get out as soon as you start to feel sick and take a break. You might only be able to 5 minutes at first, but you'll go longer every time and after a couple of weeks you'll be good to go. You'll be slower at first too, but you'll get your speed back as you get used to it.
