I like what Im hearing if the temperament he days her breeds for. But the dogs in the pictures are abit exaggerated for my taste. Although hopefully before the video is over with her will address whether or not they have a protective instinct. When I get me a dog Is want it to be reasonably protective when its needed. But not something thats dangerous.

I can't really of it was this channel or anything different channel but I heard anything interview with an old guy once whole basically said when he was growing up anyway dog that could And would catch a hog was called a Bull dogs. The way he talked they were very loose with the term when he was growing up. I guess everything deoended on the dog's work.

Sounds to me like Bo needs to go to a hunting home, maybe hog hunting. Although of somebody knows of some other large game that's legal to hunt with dogs I would be interested in hearing about it.
@bulldogsocialclub12 күн бұрын
I think the hog hunting world is so small that sport is a great outlet for dogs with a little extra drive. More accessible to the greater public. It’s more realistic. Most people aren’t going to pay Great Dane prices for a hunting dog. Pit mixes, Catahoula s etc make more sense.
@tritchie627211 күн бұрын
@@bulldogsocialclub Maybe. But that's what came to my mind when she mentioned her concern that one of her dogs might be to big for Dock diving. Maybe later another idea will come to mind that might be suitable. Speaking of which cart pulling just came to mind. But that dog might be to tall for that. I haven't done any real research on that so I don't even know if its a sport or not. Just trying to think of alternative outlets in case she does decide the dog is to big and or has that problem with others down the road.

@@johnketchun2816 original taask and modern realities don't add up to a neat conclusion in anything in life including dogs. Your point is taken and respected but it's not based on modern case uses and it seems those original genetics have been long gone.

@@johnketchun2816 I believe Great Danes originally hunted big game when they were first developed in Germany. I think the legalities on that have been restricted almost every where.

Thanks for sharing this video. I breed SA Boerboels; we also Embark and OFA Health test all of our dogs. Doing so has helped me know which ones to hold back for future breeding. Using so many different breeds to establish one breed is very interesting. Many of those breeds do not have the same temperament. How are you going to pull the perfect temperament from that gumbo?

Mine is a a working bull terrier but hes certainly not dumb in fact i was surprised just how clever he was. He learns commands real quick. it's just a case of whether or not he actually feels like doing it. If you keep him happy whilst training, then he does it, but when he's bored or tired, then he just sits and looks at you like you're the dumb one.

The last reason to due a breeding is color .....
@bulldogsocialclub13 күн бұрын
If you want to make sure your puppies sell color is important. I know it’s popular to say in the “working dog” world it isn’t, but sales prove otherwise. Guard dog world is also a little different then hunting, sport dog, “personal protection” etc. But I appreciate the idea color isn’t the important ingredient in dogs but it’s definitely something that helps moves puppies. If you can have a solid guard dog that has a sharp temperament and carries color, why not try? Who am I though I prefer a black guard dog,but I have a cream off white colored Turkish Shepherd (Anatolian x Akbash x small % of Kangal).
