Rupert Composite... Hi, I am from Bangladesh, writing to you for making an special type of human glider which can be flown in the sky by human power. I have named it after The White Crow as I got the idea from the soaring crows in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. I have designed it many times in the past but watching your videos, it becomes more clarified to me. However, ours is a poor country that has poor infrastructure to develop such an idea here. Therefore, I would like to develop my idea with you. Best regards. Thank you. Chowdhury Uzzwal

Who in the marketing department came up with the name of the Plane? I hope it's not the Bud Light woman who studied marketing at Harvard.

The clumsiest, most inelegant glider money can buy. And for an astonishing amount of money, namely 85,500 Swiss francs. In comparison to a real hang glider (FAI Class I), the Archaeopteryx actually belongs to the group of hang gliders with FAI Class II because of its foot-launch ability, although comparatively good performance parameters in terms of minimal sinking and best gliding, but flying with an Archeopteryx has really nothing to do with "hang gliding" apart from the said relic of the ability to take off on foot, just as little as this is the case with the Swift, except that this wing at least looks cool and in contrast to the Archaeopteryx is pretty much the most stylish and elegant glider that money can buy. So, you buy an expensive ugly glider, which has surprisingly poor performance compared to other gliders in the same price range, and then use this thing to fly around the world as a hang glider, but at the same time forgo pretty much everything that hang gliding has to offer and what makes it so special in comparison to gliding. And as far as the big cross-country flights are concerned, the highest score in the FAI/CIVL WXC this year (2023) was achieved with a paraglider, glide ratio 12, minimum sink 1m/s, V max 75 km/h, so actually pretty bad performance data, but for that a very low price and therefore, among other things, an incredible number of good young pilots who have now pushed the capabilities of their wings to an almost unreal high level.

The most advanced footlauchable sailplane ever conceived! Spectacular design and performance. Engineered with versatility to perfection. This kind of advanced aircraft is not cheap. I bet the trailer adds another $10k to the price tag. But you’d need it for this delicate and airplane. If this could be mass produced, the cost would come way down. But it is such a select group of folks who would be interested… it’s like the Maserati of hang gliders!! Bravo to all involved in its development. I hope it comes with some Swiss chocolates … 😉👍

Folks here complaining about the price fail to realize the engineering that went into its design and its costs. This aircraft was designed to stretch every ft-lb of strength out of its very expensive carbon composite construction so that it is light enough to be footlauchable, yet have the flight characteristics of a full size sailplane; hard to do!! From what I recall, it took many years to design and test flight. Laying up carbon composite molds is time consuming and expensive in itself. What was achieved in the design is quite remarkable. No other hang full axis enclosed cockpit footlaunchable glider has achieved what was built into this marvel of engineering! The only other competitor would be the Swift; another fine design (flying wing). $100k is a lot of money, but what you are getting is the most advanced hang glider/sailplane on the market, achieving flight characteristics never before seen in this category of aircraft. It is a breathtaking beauty. Kudos to all who designed and built it!!
