Most concise explanation of the doctrine of election that I’ve found yet. In Ephesians 1, Paul writes “In love He predestined us.” This is not a harsh doctrine. This is a doctrine of love. Praise God the Father. He has called out a peoples “from every tribe and tongue” to be a love gift to the Son. Let us stay true to our purpose then, you who are God’s children through genuine repentance and faith!

Did you know that scripture tells us that when the Hebrews built the golden calf, they did is as a "feast unto the Lord". What that means, is that they took a little bit of the paganism they had learned as slaves in Egypt and combined it with worship of the living God and declared it a holiday for Him. God didn't like it. He told Moses, "Now leave me alone, so that my anger can blaze against them, and I can put an end to them!" You need to be EXTREMELY sure that the days you celebrate "unto the Lord" are not the trappings of paganism mixed with worship of the living God. An easy way is to google, for example, "Christian traditions and paganism". If you don't trust the internet, find an encyclopedia and look it up. God says, "I am God, I never change." What He hated back then, He still hates now. Even things that may look beautiful to us...even traditions we enjoy...even if that's not why we are celebrating it....and even if, in our hearts, we truly believe we are doing it to honor Him..... He said He HATED when THEY did it. Do you think He accepts it when WE do it? Repost from Jill Noble

Like all long-winded, unordained ministers, they fail to give to us straight. 99.9 % of all pain, suffering, and catastrophic loss are provided courtesy of Lucifer, and the weakness of man to resist temptation, who, by the way, he normally gets a free ride when it comes to the blame game. When was the last time you heard anyone ask, "Why does Satan cause us pain and suffering? The pain and suffering God allows us to endure is meant solely to educate, prepare, and strengthen us. For what we must endure.

He lost me at tithing, the Pharisees were bound to tithing by the law… Malachi is not an indictment on the New Testament believer and in fact we are to give freely NOT OF COMPULSION or being pressed by the preacher to keep the law in some aspects but not others. It’s confusing to say the least.

The problem is not so difficult. God cannot be omnipotent and good at the same time. The whole bible is essentially a long discourse on how humans have struggled to reconcile these two characteristics. The Christian explanation is that the world has been given over, at this present time (since Adam, in fact), to the devil. God has abdicated his omnipotence for the time being. Why and for what purpose is less clear. For every answer you could give there would be a bible verse which says the opposite. Job gets an answer of sorts, but not a full explanation.

I don’t mind acknowledging His birthday, with honor and reverence. What I don’t want like is the commercialization of the day. Shopping, parties, . Stores sales pitch. Some people do not even believe, but they celebrate the festivities. Some do not even use the word Christmas, they say “ happy holidays “. Let’s not forget He was born to die . He arrested death and gave us a new life. We have been redeemed. We are free.

At worst each believer should have a liberty to choose to follow this holy day or not. At best we should refrain from anything that is not clearly sanctioned by Scripture. But, there’s not many who do respect those who see that this is not sanctioned in scripture whatsoever But sadly those who refrain from celebrating something that is not approved of in Holy Scriptures are judged as legalists, spoil sports or downright scrooges, which is wholly the wrong thing to do. Infact those who see no biblical warrant in this festive day and are erring on the side of caution should be respected and seen as valuing purity over what is in the end of the day a man made day of celebration. I hesitate to listen to good men who most of the time are very sound, but then say, well “ I think this and I don’t see no harm in doing that” and don’t honestly look at what Gods Word prescribes on how we are to worship this thrice holy God. It’s staggers me that there are multitudes of good ministers and theologians who happily give their stamp of approval on Christmas and who, ‘supposedly’ hold to the Regulative Principle of Worship, yet when it comes to Christmas and Easter they make their excuses and reasons why Christmas is okay to celebrate, only because it panders the the flesh and it appeals to their senses and as a result, they make an utter mockery of the RPW. How sad and inconsistent. Let’s be normative on Christmas and Easter but hold to the Regulative Principle of Worship with everything else😢 Don’t try to put Christ in to Christmas as he’s never been in this festive celebration in the first place. You can argue all you like but there is NO biblical warrant to celebrate a day set a side to remember Christs birth. If there was we would be clearly informed to do so. That said it’s not my place to judge those who hold to Christmas and it’s not those who hold to Christmas to judge those who feel convicted not to indulge; God is our judge and we all as believers will be judged according to His holy standard and His holy Word🙏🙏🙏

I was raised for several years in Christian Science and ended up for nearly 2 decades an Adventist. Two issues, no faith in the Bible as final authority and no Trinitarian Doctrine. Where were the churches that "knew the Truth?" No witness and sadly I nearly just walked away all together. Many like me suffer in darkness and go get them into the light!

The church shouldn’t “celebrate” Christmas (because it forces everyone to celebrate it) but the church should celebrate the birth, death and resurrection of Christ at all times! The Bible says nothing about how a home or even a church building decorates.
