I'm thinking about doing it again this year. I did it back in 2020 and 2021.

Soo familiar as I've run the loop many times in that direction, though not in 8 years or so. The erosion of canyons is making them ever harder to get in and out of I see.

Yeah, those canyons are getting a little tricky, if you're running and packless I'm sure it'd be easy though.

It was harder than I expected, all that hopping from rock to rock across the lava fields was taxing. I think I might do it again this summer! Lol.

 I remember the tedious nature of the lava rock fields..The north side was a lot smoother. I started at pre-dawn on my second day coming into the north slope from the west side: Hundreds of elk still up high and packs of coyotes howling. It was magic. I recommend the same loop trip around Adams. Incredible scenery. Take the high route, do NOT go low on the east side.

@@goof260 I somehow wasn't aware Mt Adams had a loop trail. It's added to the trip list. Thanks for the tip!

Any updates on the quality of recording with the microphone caps? I was planning to do something similar and was hoping the various reports of "bad quality" had more to do with the built-in mics rather than the preamp.

I bought it to use with a set of clippy mics and a binaural box I built for recording nature sounds, but I'm sad to say I haven't actually got out and got any decent recordings with it yet. Hopefully as summer winds down I'll get some and be able to upload a follow up video.

@@OutNAboutWithBrad No worries, thanks for the super fast reply. I've recorded concerts for decades with diy binaural mics and this 32bit float thing has me interested. It appears this n1 essential may be small enough to fit inside a hat with mics poking out either direction.

Hello. Let's keep it real, it cost $99.99 shipped. It's an entry level unit. As soon as we get some better weather (not raining, it could be a while in the PNW) I'm going to go out and do some field testing and post the video. Check back....maybe soon.

Yes, it is crap when you compare it to expensive recorders. For a budget filmmaker, this provides quality at great value.

This can happen to any vehicle, the Subaru was infamous for failed head gaskets. But most vehicles aren't around 35-45 years for you to hear about their failed head gaskets.

Check your 3rd brake light too. Water can come through there. The rear hatch is not the best designed. I wish Toyota just kept the 1/2 and 1/2 like the LandCruiser.

Yeah that Land Cruiser hatch would be great. I made a fold down table on my sleeping platform which is good for food prep but that's about it.

I really need some help here. This is the third leak source I've seen and none of them are the source of my leak. If you pause your video at 1:24 You'll see that plastic trim you've pulled down. The fastener for that trim is pretty much pointing directly at the roughly 1.5 inch hole in the roof. That's where my water is coming from. So it's not the door and it's behind the main hatch seal. I've re-seated all of the roof rack assembly and it's still leaking. Is there any other source from the roof that you're aware of? I have an 07 SR5 with no sunroof. Nor does it have the spoiler as seen on the "Limited" model. This is infuriating.
@OutNAboutWithBrad
@OutNAboutWithBrad 2 жыл бұрын
The only things higher than that is the roof rack bolts and possibly some wire pass throughs on the hatch. I've had 2 Prius that leak tiny amounts of water above the hatch where they bonded panels together. Maybe look for that too?

@@OutNAboutWithBradmine leaks right in the wayyy top near the 3rd row seat belt. Took everything apart and found out it is coming out of a tiny crack in the metal near the left side. I have sealed everything on the roof. Literally everything. I might have to call a roofing company to install some shingles or something 😂
