It’s in the backlog I might actually do that. Mainly because I keep hearing people mention Alan wake 2. Aren’t they mad because a character became black before release or something?

​@@PaulseTV Basically, nearly a decade before AW2 came out, Quantum Break had a teaser for the game where they cast a white actress. This is from, canonically, a universe where Alan Wake is a series of games, movies and books (the RCU is crazy like that) and Remedy cannot even call QB canon exactly due to Microsoft owning it. She has about 15 seconds of screen time in total. By the time of AW2 there's actually a plot reason for her appearance that makes complete and total sense, too, so it's not just unaddressed. They are also really mad there's like two "offensive" lines in the game, but they keep acting as if the main character has said them - instead of a shadow possessed evil version of the main character who is lying and trying to drive Saga to madness. It's one of the most apolitical videogames ever, but because SBI unfortunately was hired to consult on the project - this was before anyone even knew who they were - they have blown this up to ludicrous levels and constantly try to lambast the game for being "Alan Woke," and blame it's lower sales figures on this fact instead of the fact it was an Epic exclusive game of a cult videogame. It's wild how many channels try to grift it, when it did nothing wrong.

Quantum Break is legally not part of the RCU because Microsoft owns it, but is hinted in the game to be connected in the crazy way the Remedyverse works - it's from a universe where Alan Wake is a series of movies, books and games. The grift channels keep ignoring that there's a very major story reason why Saga's appearance is different (her father is a major character from the RCU), and getting very angry about precisely two lines spoken by a possessed evil version of the character trying to drive Saga to madness - acting like that is her character's normal behavior. Really this whole thing started because they hired SBI before anyone knew who SBI was, and ignore the fact it was a Finnish company just trying to make sure they didn't do something accidentally wrong in America. Now they pretty much call it 'Alan Woke' and blame the poor sales on this, rather than the fact it was an EGS exclusive with no physical copies until recently sequel of a cult videogame, and constantly attack Remedy every few months over it even though there's absolutely nothing to the claims.

Anyway sorry if that's a pretty wordy reply but it particularly frustrates me to see these channels try to harm a struggling but beloved studio with what amounts to slander in a game that is possibly one of the most apolitical games I've played in years. I'd tacked this on to the last comment, but am afraid I'd upset the YT bot gods and get it erased again, lol

1000% agree. Yeah people want to feel like revolutionaries of old rallying the troops to defeat their enemies. That mindset has both sides getting more and more extreme, which is making things uncomfortable for the people like me who just want peace and good games lol.

Oh I’m not saying that people should be able to stomp, I’m saying that as a casual player, I like being able to occasionallydo that without the time investment, it’s just my personal preference. My main take was that competitive shooters follow this pathology of rapidly rising skill ceilings which ends up making it less fun for casuals, not saying it should or shouldn’t be this way, just is what it is. I think the game is great

That’s exactly how it felt playing Fortnite, when they added SBMM to unranked it made the game so much less fun. I couldn’t even play with my friends because they were more casual and it wasn’t fun for them. I had to make a Smurf, which is annoying

Oh god I can only imagine, it makes sense though because the genre is even older than FPS games. People have been grinding those games forever. I don’t think I need to get pummeled anymore for a little bit, but maybe I’ll jump into the genre one day haha

@@PaulseTV , there one thing you must understand about game design. Even if developers lower the skill ceiling into the ground and make it that you can win with just one button. You still gonna get players who are good and players who are bad. That's just human nature. Some people can get really good at something within a few hours, other people it takes them years and others never do get good.

I’m definitely not a fan ideologically, but even if cyberpunk had some woke elements, I still like the game overall, that’s mainly my point. I’m also tired of the forced woke content, but maybe the bald main character is as far as it goes with this title, if they let me down, I will not shill for them, I just still have a glimmer of hope, that’s all. But I appreciate the comment and I totally get your point

CDPR is Slavic company, we Slavs just dont do that woke nonsense here ;)
